The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men's tennis. It is run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is contested annually between teams from over 140 competing countries. It is described by the organisers as the "World Cup of Tennis", and the winners are referred to as the World Champions. The competition began in 1900 as a challenge between Great Britain and the United States. By 2023, 155 nations entered teams into the competition.
The Australia Davis Cup team is the second most successful team ever to compete in the Davis Cup, winning the coveted title on 28 separate occasions, second behind the United States with 32.
The France men's national tennis team represents France in Davis Cup tennis competition, and is governed by the Fédération Française de Tennis. France competed in their first Davis Cup in 1904.
France is the third most successful nation, with ten wins. Their most recent title came in 2017.
The Italy men's national tennis team represents Italy in Davis Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Federazione Italiana Tennis. Italy won the Davis Cup in 1976, and finished as runners-up six times. They currently compete in the World Group. They last competed in the highest level in 2000, but winning 3–0 against Chile, on September 16, 2011, won again a pass for the World Group. Nicola Pietrangeli is one of Italy's most decorated players, featuring in all major records for the team. He holds the record for most Davis Cup ties, most overall wins, most singles wins, most doubles wins, and most years played.
The Slovakia men's national tennis team represents Slovakia in Davis Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Slovak Tennis Association.
The Pacific Oceania Davis Cup team represents the island nations in Oceania, excluding Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia, in Davis Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Oceania Tennis Federation.
The Estonia men's national tennis team represents Estonia in Davis Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Estonian Tennis Association.
The 2011 Davis Cup was the 100th edition of a tournament between national teams in men's tennis. Spain was the championship team, winning the final over Argentina, 3–1.
The 2018 Davis Cup World Group play-offs were held from 14 to 16 September. They were the main play-offs of the 2018 Davis Cup. The winners of the playoffs advance as seeded to the 2019 Davis Cup qualifying round.
The 2020–21 Davis Cup was the 109th edition of the Davis Cup, a tournament between national teams in men's tennis. It was sponsored by Rakuten. For this edition, the format of the cup was changed. The new format saw the creation of a Davis Cup World Group I and World Group II which was played on a worldwide basis and replaced the regional Group I and Group II. As a result, the Davis Cup nations ranking was no longer used to determine which group a nation was played in. Previous the 2019, and the 2021 finals host Spain were the defending champions. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, on 26 June 2020 the ITF announced that the 2020 finals would take place from 22 until 28 November 2021. In addition, 24 World Group I and World Group II ties were postponed to March and September 2021, and the 2020 regional Group III and Group IV events were also postponed to 2021. The 18 nations that qualified for the finals kept their standing for the next year.
The Finals, formerly known as World Group, was the highest level of Davis Cup competition in 2021. It was held on indoor hard courts at three venues in Innsbruck, Austria, Madrid, Spain and Turin, Italy. The 2020 edition was originally scheduled to take place from 23 until 29 November 2020. However, on 26 June 2020, ITF announced that 2020 Finals would take place from 22 until 28 November 2021 due to coronavirus pandemic and be named 2021 Davis Cup Finals. On 18 January 2021, ITF announced that the Finals would be expanded over 11 days, from 25 November to 5 December 2021. The ties were contested in a best-of-three rubbers format and played on one day. There were two singles followed by a doubles. Spain were the defending champions, but were eliminated in the round-robin stage. The Russian Tennis Federation won the title, defeating Croatia in the final. Andrey Rublev was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament after going 6–1 in both singles and doubles.

The Russian Tennis Federation were the defending champions, but they and Belarus were disqualified from competing in international events due to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The Finals, formerly known as World Group, was the highest level of Davis Cup competition in 2022. It took place from 13 to 18 September and from 22 to 27 November 2022. The ties were contested in a best-of-three rubbers format and played on one day. There were two singles followed by a doubles. The Russian Tennis Federation were the defending champions, but they were banned from competing in international events following the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Canada won the title, defeating Australia in the final. It was Canada's first ever Davis Cup title. On 13 March 2022, ITF announced that Serbia, which had been awarded a wild card for the 2022 Finals, had replaced the Russian Tennis Federation as the highest-ranked losing semi-finalist in the 2021 Finals. On 17 March 2022, ITF announced that Canada will compete in the Finals as the replacement wild card.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo Davis Cup team represents the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Davis Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Fédération de la République Démocratique du Congo de Tennis. They currently compete in the Africa Zone of Group IV.
The Tanzania Davis Cup team represents the Tanzania in Davis Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Tanzania Tennis Association. They currently compete in the Africa Zone of Group IV.
The Burundi Davis Cup team represents the Burundi in Davis Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Fédération de Tennis du Burundi. They currently compete in the Africa Zone of Group IV.
The Aruba Billie Jean King Cup team represents Aruba in Billie Jean King Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Aruba Lawn Tennis Bond. They currently compete in the Americas Zone of Group II.
The Nicaragua Davis Cup team represents Nicaragua in Davis Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Federación Nicaragüense de Tenis. They currently compete in the Americas Zone of Group IV.
The Maldives Davis Cup team represents Maldives in Davis Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Tennis Association of Maldives. They currently compete in the Asia/Oceania Zone of Group IV.
