Italy defeated Australia 2-0 in the tennis final of the 2023 Davis Cup. It was Italy's second Davis Cup title, having previously won in 1976. [1]
The Finals, formerly known as World Group, is the highest level of Davis Cup competition in 2023. It took place from 12 to 17 September and from 21 to 26 November 2023. The ties are contested in a best-of-three rubbers format and played on one day. There are two singles followed by a doubles. [2] Canada was the defending champion, but lost in the quarterfinals to Finland.
All knockout stage matches took place on indoor hard courts at the Martin Carpena Arena, Málaga, Spain.

The seedings were based on the Davis Cup Ranking of 6 February 2023. The winner of the 2022 Finals Canada were seeded No. 1 and Australia, as runners-up in 2022, were seeded No. 2, with Spain and Croatia also seeded based on the latest Davis Cup nations ranking.
The remaining 12 nations were distributed in Pots 2–4 according to the latest Davis Cup nations ranking. Four host nations, Croatia, Great Britain, Italy and Spain were placed in different groups. [11]
The 16 teams were divided in four round robin groups of four teams each. The top two teams in each group qualified for the quarterfinals. [2] Group A was hosted in Bologna, Group B was hosted in Manchester, Group C was hosted in Valencia, and Group D was hosted in Split. [12] [13]

The Australia Davis Cup team is the second most successful team ever to compete in the Davis Cup, winning the coveted title on 28 separate occasions, second behind the United States with 32.
The Serbian men's national tennis team represents Serbia in the Davis Cup and the ATP Cup, both tennis competitions. Since June 2006, the team has played under the name of Serbia, following the split of Serbia and Montenegro.
The 2008 Davis Cup was the 97th edition of the most important tournament between national teams in men's tennis. Sixteen teams participated in the World Group and more than one hundred others took part in different regional groups. The first matches were played on February 8–10. The final took place on November 21–23 at Estadio Polideportivo Islas Malvinas, Mar del Plata, Argentina, with Spain beating Argentina 3–1 to clinch their 3rd Davis Cup title.

Czech Republic successfully held their place as Davis Cup champions, by defeating Serbia in the final, in Belgrade, by a 3–2 score. The draw took place on 19 September 2012 in London, United Kingdom. Although, the draws for Asia/Oceania Zone Group I and Europe/Africa Zone Group II were held following the remaining play-off ties on 19–21 October 2012.

The 2020–21 Davis Cup was the 109th edition of the Davis Cup, a tournament between national teams in men's tennis. It was sponsored by Rakuten. For this edition, the format of the cup was changed. The new format saw the creation of a Davis Cup World Group I and World Group II which was played on a worldwide basis and replaced the regional Group I and Group II. As a result, the Davis Cup nations ranking was no longer used to determine which group a nation was played in. Previous the 2019, and the 2021 finals host Spain were the defending champions. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, on 26 June 2020 the ITF announced that the 2020 finals would take place from 22 until 28 November 2021. In addition, 24 World Group I and World Group II ties were postponed to March and September 2021, and the 2020 regional Group III and Group IV events were also postponed to 2021. The 18 nations that qualified for the finals kept their standing for the next year.

On 18 January 2021, ITF announced that the Finals would be expanded over 11 days, from 25 November to 5 December 2021. The ties were contested in a best-of-three rubbers format and played on one day. There were two singles followed by a doubles. Spain were the defending champions, but were eliminated in the round-robin stage. The Russian Tennis Federation won the title, defeating Croatia in the final. Andrey Rublev was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament after going 6–1 in both singles and doubles.

The 2023 Davis Cup qualifying round was held from 3 to 5 February 2023. The twelve winners of this round qualified for the 2023 Davis Cup Finals while the twelve losers qualified for the 2023 Davis Cup World Group I.
The 2024 Davis Cup qualifying round was held from 1 to 4 February 2024. The twelve winners of this round qualified for the 2024 Davis Cup Finals while the twelve losers will play at the 2024 Davis Cup World Group I.
