The 2023 Auckland Open (sponsored by ASB Bank) was a joint professional men's and women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts at the ASB Tennis Centre in Auckland. The 36th edition of the women's event (a WTA 250 tournament) was held from 2 to 8 January 2023 [1] and the 45th edition of the men's event (an ATP 250 tournament) were scheduled from 9 to 14 January 2023. [2] The event was the first to be organized since 2020, after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the 2021 and 2022 tournaments.

In 2022, the WTA calendar was still being affected by the cancellation of women's professional tennis tournaments in China and Russia due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and concerns about the security and well-being of tennis player Peng Shuai after her allegations of sexual assault against Chinese Communist Party leader Zhang Gaoli. As a result, a WTA 1000 tournament was announced to be held in Guadalajara to compensate for it. This was one of the biggest women's tournaments ever hosted by Mexico, held on outdoor hard courts in October 2022.

Both the men's and the women's tournaments were held at the National Tennis Center in Beijing from 28 September to 4 October for the men, and from 30 September to 8 October for the women. This was the first edition of the China Open since 2019, with the intervening editions cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2024 Hobart International was a professional women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 29th edition of the Hobart International and part of the WTA 250 tournaments of the 2024 WTA Tour. It took place at the Hobart International Tennis Centre in Hobart, Australia from 8 to 13 January 2024.

The 2024 Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open was a professional women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the third edition of the tournament as a WTA 500 event on the 2024 WTA Tour. It took place at the Zayed Sports City International Tennis Centre in Abu Dhabi, from 5 February until 11 February 2024. First-seeded Elena Rybakina won the singles title.
