The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men's tennis. It is run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is contested annually between teams from over 140 competing countries. <span class="mw-page-title-main">József Asbóth</span> Hungarian tennis player

József Asbóth was a Hungarian tennis player. Born to a family of railway workers, he is best remembered for being the first Hungarian and first player from Eastern Europe to win a Grand Slam singles title, at the 1947 French Open. He remains the only Hungarian male player to win a Grand Slam singles title. Asbóth was a clay court specialist who was good at keeping the ball in play.

The Hungary women's national tennis team represents Hungary in Fed Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Magyar Tenisz Szövetség. They currently compete in the Europe/Africa Zone of Group I.

Constantine "Gene" Mako was an American tennis player and art gallery owner. He was born in Budapest, capital of Hungary. He won four Grand Slam doubles titles in the 1930s. Mako was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island in 1973.

Zoltán Kuhárszky is a former tennis player from Hungary who became a Swiss citizen in 1995. Kuharszky won two doubles titles during his professional career. He reached his highest singles ATP ranking on July 30, 1984, when he became the number 53 in the world, though he never won a singles title in his career.

Dragutin Mitić was a tennis player from Yugoslavia. He defected to the West in 1952 and afterwards lived in the United States.

Norbert Gombos, occasionally spelled Norbert Gomboš, is a Slovak professional tennis player competing primarily on the ATP Challenger Tour and playing for the Slovakia Davis Cup team. He achieved a career-high ATP singles ranking of World No. 80 on 2 October 2017. He is currently the No. 3 Slovak tennis player in singles.

The 1993 Davis Cup World Group qualifying round was held from 22 to 27 September. They were the main play-offs of the 1993 Davis Cup. The winners of the playoffs advanced to the 1994 Davis Cup World Group, and the losers were relegated to their respective Zonal Regions I.

The Finals, formerly known as World Group, was the highest level of Davis Cup competition in 2021. It was held on indoor hard courts at three venues in Innsbruck, Austria, Madrid, Spain and Turin, Italy. The 2020 edition was originally scheduled to take place from 23 until 29 November 2020. However, on 26 June 2020, ITF announced that 2020 Finals would take place from 22 until 28 November 2021 due to coronavirus pandemic and be named 2021 Davis Cup Finals. On 18 January 2021, ITF announced that the Finals would be expanded over 11 days, from 25 November to 5 December 2021. The ties were contested in a best-of-three rubbers format and played on one day. There were two singles followed by a doubles. Spain were the defending champions, but were eliminated in the round-robin stage. The Russian Tennis Federation won the title, defeating Croatia in the final. Andrey Rublev was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament after going 6–1 in both singles and doubles.
