The Finals, formerly known as World Group, was the highest level of Davis Cup competition in 2021. It was held on indoor hard courts at three venues in Innsbruck, Austria, Madrid, Spain and Turin, Italy. The 2020 edition was originally scheduled to take place from 23 until 29 November 2020. However, on 26 June 2020, ITF announced that 2020 Finals would take place from 22 until 28 November 2021 due to coronavirus pandemic and be named 2021 Davis Cup Finals. [1] On 18 January 2021, ITF announced that the Finals would be expanded over 11 days, from 25 November to 5 December 2021. [2] The ties were contested in a best-of-three rubbers format and played on one day. There were two singles followed by a doubles. [3] Spain were the defending champions, but were eliminated in the round-robin stage. The Russian Tennis Federation won the title, defeating Croatia in the final. Andrey Rublev was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament after going 6–1 in both singles and doubles. [4] [5]

The seedings were based on the Davis Cup Ranking of 9 March. [6] Spain, as 2019 champions, are seeded No. 1 and were drawn into Pool A. Canada, as 2019 runners-up, are seeded No. 2 and were drawn into Pool B. The four other highest-ranked nations (France, Croatia, USA and Serbia) are seeded 3–6. The nations in pot 2 were drawn randomly into position 2 and the nations in pot 3 were drawn randomly into position 3. [8]

The 18 teams were divided in six round robin groups of three teams each. The six group winners plus the two second-placed teams with the best records based on percentage of matches won (followed by percentage of sets won and then percentage of games won), qualified for the quarterfinals. [11]

The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men's tennis. It is run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is contested annually between teams from over 140 competing countries. It is described by the organisers as the "World Cup of Tennis", and the winners are referred to as the World Champions. The competition began in 1900 as a challenge between Great Britain and the United States. By 2023, 155 nations entered teams into the competition.
The World Group was the highest level of Davis Cup competition in 2005. The first-round losers went into the Davis Cup World Group play-offs, and the winners progress to the quarterfinals. The quarterfinalists were guaranteed a World Group spot for 2006.
Filip Krajinović is a Serbian professional tennis player. He achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 26 on 23 April 2018. His ATP Tour debut came at the 2009 Serbia Open, where he lost in the first round. His best individual result has been a Masters 1000 final, at the 2017 Paris Masters. He played a Davis Cup semifinal with the Serbian national team.
The 2011 Davis Cup was the 100th edition of a tournament between national teams in men's tennis. Spain was the championship team, winning the final over Argentina, 3–1.

Karen Abgarovich Khachanov is a Russian-Armenian professional tennis player. Khachanov has won five ATP Tour singles titles, including a Masters 1000 title at the 2018 Paris Masters, has claimed an Olympic silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and has reached two Major semifinals at the 2022 US Open and 2023 Australian Open. He has also won one doubles Masters 1000 title at the 2023 Madrid Open partnering Andrey Rublev. He achieved his career-high singles ranking of world No. 8 on 15 July 2019.

From this season's tournament the deciding set of each match would be settled by a tiebreak at 6 games all rather than playing an advantage set until a player or a team were two games clear. Argentina won their first Davis Cup title, after 4 runner-up finishes, defeating Croatia in the final. Federico Delbonis defeated Ivo Karlović in the final match to give Argentina its first Davis Cup title, after a comeback from Juan Martín del Potro against Marin Čilić in the fourth match.

France won their tenth title, with Lucas Pouille defeating Steve Darcis of Belgium on indoor hard in the final match held at Stade Pierre-Mauroy located in Villeneuve-d'Ascq on 26 November.
Alexander Stanislavovich "Sasha" Bublik is a Kazakhstani professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 25 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), which he achieved in July 2023, and is the current Kazakhstani No. 1 player. Bublik also has a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 47, attained on 8 November 2021.

The ties were contested in a best-of-three rubbers format and were played on one day. There were two singles followed by a doubles.
The 2020–21 Davis Cup was the 109th edition of the Davis Cup, a tournament between national teams in men's tennis. It was sponsored by Rakuten. For this edition, the format of the cup was changed. The new format saw the creation of a Davis Cup World Group I and World Group II which was played on a worldwide basis and replaced the regional Group I and Group II. As a result, the Davis Cup nations ranking was no longer used to determine which group a nation was played in. Previous the 2019, and the 2021 finals host Spain were the defending champions. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, on 26 June 2020 the ITF announced that the 2020 finals would take place from 22 until 28 November 2021. In addition, 24 World Group I and World Group II ties were postponed to March and September 2021, and the 2020 regional Group III and Group IV events were also postponed to 2021. The 18 nations that qualified for the finals kept their standing for the next year.

The Russian Tennis Federation were the defending champions, but they and Belarus were disqualified from competing in international events due to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The Russian Tennis Federation were the defending champions, but they were banned from competing in international events following the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Canada won the title, defeating Australia in the final. It was Canada's first ever Davis Cup title. On 13 March 2022, ITF announced that Serbia, which had been awarded a wild card for the 2022 Finals, had replaced the Russian Tennis Federation as the highest-ranked losing semi-finalist in the 2021 Finals. On 17 March 2022, ITF announced that Canada will compete in the Finals as the replacement wild card.
