The 2021 Next Generation ATP Finals (also known as the Intesa Sanpaolo Next Gen ATP Finals for sponsorship reasons) was a men's exhibition tennis tournament for the best singles players on the 2021 ATP Tour who were age 21 and under. It ran from 9 to 13 November 2021 in Milan, Italy at the PalaLido and was the fourth edition of the event.
Carlos Alcaraz defeated Sebastian Korda in the final, 4–3(7–5), 4–2, 4–2, to win the title. For the second consecutive occasion, the title was won by the youngest player in the draw.
Jannik Sinner was the defending champion from when the event was last held in 2019, but withdrew from the event before competition began.
On 14 September 2021, the first four qualifiers were announced: Jannik Sinner, Félix Auger-Aliassime, Sebastian Korda, and Carlos Alcaraz. [1] On 22 October 2021, Jenson Brooksby was announced as the fifth qualifier. [2] Lorenzo Musetti was announced as the sixth qualifier on 24 October 2021. [3] Brandon Nakashima was announced seventh on 30 October 2021. [4] After Auger-Aliassime withdrew from the tournament, the ATP announced Juan Manuel Cerúndolo as the next qualifier on 1 November 2021. Cerúndolo is the first player from South America to qualify in the tournament's history. [5] Brooksby withdrew due to injury on 2 November 2021 and Sebastián Báez qualified later that day. [6] After Sinner's withdrawal, Holger Rune was announced by the ATP as the next qualifier on 4 November 2021. [7] Hugo Gaston was announced as the final qualifier on 5 November 2021. [8]
The top eight players in the ATP Race to Milan will qualify. Eligible players have to be 21 or under at the start of the year (born in 2000 or later for the 2021 edition).

Holger Vitus Nødskov Rune is a Danish professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 4 in men's singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), making him the highest-ranked male Danish player in the history of the ATP rankings.Rune has won four ATP Tour singles titles, including a Masters 1000 title at the 2022 Paris Masters, and produced his best Grand Slam performance at the 2022 French Open by reaching the quarterfinals in his main draw debut at the tournament. As a junior, Rune was ranked as high as world No. 1 and won ten titles on the ITF Junior Circuit, including the 2019 French Open boys' title. Carlos Alcaraz defeated Cameron Norrie in the final, 6–3, 7–5 to win the singles tennis title at the 2023 Argentina Open.
Cameron Norrie defeated the defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in the final, 5–7, 6–4, 7–5 to win the singles tennis title at the 2023 Rio Open. It was their second final meeting in as many weeks, with Alcaraz winning the title in Buenos Aires the week prior.
Carlos Alcaraz defeated Daniil Medvedev in the final, 6–3, 6–2 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2023 Indian Wells Masters. He did not drop a set en route to his third ATP Tour Masters 1000 title and eighth career title overall. With the win, he usurped Novak Djokovic for the ATP No. 1 ranking, who was unable to enter the United States due to being unvaccinated for COVID-19. Alcaraz also ended the 19-match winning streak of Medvedev, who became the first Russian to contest the final since Andrei Chesnokov in 1992.
Daniil Medvedev defeated Jannik Sinner in the final, 7–5, 6–3 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2023 Miami Open. It was his fifth career ATP Tour Masters 1000 title, fourth title of 2023, and 19th career title overall. He became only the eighth man to win a fifth Masters title.
Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz defeated Jan-Lennard Struff in the final, 6–4, 3–6, 6–3 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2023 Madrid Open. It was his fourth Masters 1000 title. Struff was the first lucky loser to reach a Masters final.
Daniil Medvedev defeated Holger Rune in the final, 7–5, 7–5 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2023 Italian Open. It was his fifth title of 2023, sixth career Masters 1000 title, and first ATP Tour title on clay. Before 2023, Medvedev had never won a match at the Italian Open in three previous appearances.
Novak Djokovic defeated Casper Ruud in the final, 7–6(7–1), 6–3, 7–5 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2023 French Open. It was his third French Open title and his record-breaking 23rd men's singles major title overall, surpassing the record he previously held jointly with Rafael Nadal. With the victory, Djokovic became the first man to achieve a triple career Grand Slam, and became the oldest French Open champion at the age of 36 years and 20 days.
