Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) is the Brazilian basketball league, created in 2008 as the new format to the Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete. NBB is fully organized by the participating clubs, as an attempt to reorganize and rebuild the Brazilian basketball. The form of dispute follows a similar model adopted by the NBA and European countries. The first edition was disputed by fifteen teams playing each other in the round and second round at the classification stage. At the end of two rounds, the top eight teams qualify for the playoffs in best of five matches, advances to the next phase who win three games. [1] [2]

Marcelo "Marcelinho" Magalhães Machado is a former Brazilian professional basketball player. At a height of 2.01 m (6'7") tall, and a weight of 95 kg (210 lbs.), he played at the shooting guard and small forward positions, with small forward being his main position. He spent most of his career playing with Flamengo in Brazil's top-tier level NBB league, and he was also a long-time member of the senior men's Brazilian national basketball team.

Joinville Basquete Associados, now called Cia. do Terno/Romaço/Joinville, is a professional basketball team from Joinville, Brazil that plays in the Novo Basquete Brasil league. In NBB's first season (2008–2009), Joinville finished 4th overall, out of 15 teams from all over Brazil. Before entering the 2009-2010 season playoffs, Joinville was placed 5th on the regular season (15-11).
Vítor Alves Benite, commonly known as Vítor Benite, or simply as Benite, is a Brazilian-Italian professional basketball player for Gran Canaria of the Spanish Liga ACB and EuroCup. At a height of 1.94 m tall, he plays at the shooting guard position. He also represents the senior Brazilian national basketball team.
São José dos Campos Basketball, or simply Sao José Basketball, is a Brazilian professional basketball club that is based in São José dos Campos, São Paulo State. The club's full name is Associação Esportiva São José dos Campos Basketball. The club plays in the top-tier level league in Brazil, the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB).

The 2014 NBB All-Star Game is an exhibition basketball game that will be played on February 22, 2014 at Ginásio Paulo Sarasate in Fortaleza, Ceará, home of Basquete Cearense. This game will be the 6th edition of the NBB All-Star Game and will be played during the 2013–14 NBB season. Basquete Cearense was awarded the All-Star Game in an announcement by president Cássio Roque on January 16, 2014. This will be the first time that Fortaleza is hosting the All-Star game.

This is the inaugural season of the Basketball Champions League Americas, FIBA Americas League successor. The NBB season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ending shortly before the end of the regular season, with no playoffs and consequently, no champions declared.
