The NBB All-Star Game is an annual game involving the All-Star players of each season of the Novo Basquete Brasil (New Basketball Brazil), which is the top-tier level Brazilian professional club basketball league. The players are chosen by votes on the Internet, and are then divided into two teams. The criterion for the selection of the teams has varied during the years. [1] In the first edition of the NBB All-Star Game, the teams were divided into team Ubiratan , with light jerseys, and formed by the best players of each position; and team Rosa Branca , with dark jerseys, and formed by the second top players in each position. In the second edition, they were chosen by votes on the Internet, and divided into team Pedroca and team Kanela . In the third and fourth editions, the teams were selected in the same way, but formed into team NBB Brasil (NBB Brazil), formed by the best Brazilian players of the season, and team NBB Mundo (NBB World), formed by the best foreign players of the season.

This event features the NBB Dunks Tournament and the NBB Three-point Tournament (both featured since the first edition of the All-Star Weekend), and the NBB Skills Challenge (featured since the 2011 edition).

The Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete is the annual championship title of the top-tier level men's professional basketball league in Brazil. Over the years, the championship has been held under different leagues. From 1990 to 2008, the top-tier level league competition in Brazil also held the name of Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete.
Novo Basquete Brasil is the Brazilian premier professional men's basketball league. It is organized by the Liga Nacional de Basquete, in a new format of Brazil's previous top-tier level basketball competition, the Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete. Joinville Basquete Associados, now called Cia. do Terno/Romaço/Joinville, is a professional basketball team from Joinville, Brazil that plays in the Novo Basquete Brasil league. In NBB's first season (2008–2009), Joinville finished 4th overall, out of 15 teams from all over Brazil. Before entering the 2009-2010 season playoffs, Joinville was placed 5th on the regular season (15-11).

The 2014 NBB All-Star Game is an exhibition basketball game that will be played on February 22, 2014 at Ginásio Paulo Sarasate in Fortaleza, Ceará, home of Basquete Cearense. This game will be the 6th edition of the NBB All-Star Game and will be played during the 2013–14 NBB season. Basquete Cearense was awarded the All-Star Game in an announcement by president Cássio Roque on January 16, 2014. This will be the first time that Fortaleza is hosting the All-Star game.
