The NBB All-Star Weekend is an annual event involving the All-Star players of each season of the Novo Basquete Brasil (New Basketball Brazil), which is the top-tier level Brazilian professional club basketball league. This event features the NBB Dunks Tournament and the NBB Three-point Tournament (both featured since the first edition of the All-Star Weekend), and the NBB Skills Challenge (featured since the 2011 edition). The NBB All-Star Weekend also features the NBB All-Star Game, as its main event. [1]

The players are chosen by votes on the Internet, and are then divided into two teams. The criterion for the selection of the teams has varied during the years.

The Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete is the annual championship title of the top-tier level men's professional basketball league in Brazil. Over the years, the championship has been held under different leagues. From 1990 to 2008, the top-tier level league competition in Brazil also held the name of Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete.
Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) (English: New Basketball Brazil) is the Brazilian premier professional men's basketball league. It is organized by the Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB) (National Basketball League), in a new format of Brazil's previous top-tier level basketball competition, the Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete (Brazilian Basketball Championship). The NBB is managed by the Brazilian basketball associations, which were founding members of the LNB.

In the second edition, they were chosen by votes on the Internet, and divided into team Pedroca and team Kanela. In the third and fourth editions, the teams were selected in the same way, but formed into team NBB Brasil, formed by the best Brazilian players of the season, and team NBB Mundo, formed by the best foreign players of the season.
Centro de Treinamento Arremessando para o Futuro, or simply Espírito Santo Basquetebol, is a Brazilian basketball team from Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, Brazil.
The 2012–13 NBB season was the fifth edition of Novo Basquete Brasil, the Brazilian basketball league. This tournament is organized entirely by the Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB). The NBB serves as a qualifying competition for international tournaments such as Liga Sudamericana and Torneo InterLigas. For this season the qualify for the FIBA Americas League came to be through the Liga Sudamericana.
Liga de Desenvolvimento de Basquete (LDB) (English: Developmental Basketball League) is an Under-20 age version of the top-tier level Brazilian men's professional basketball league, the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). The players need to be 20 years old and under to play in this tournament. It is a way to discover new players for future Brazilian national team generations, and for new young talents to be developed for the main teams of the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB).

This game will be the 6th edition of the NBB All-Star Game and will be played during the 2013–14 NBB season. Basquete Cearense was awarded the All-Star Game in an announcement by president Cássio Roque on January 16, 2014. This will be the first time that Fortaleza is hosting the All-Star game.
