The 2009 Savannah State Tigers baseball team represented Savannah State University in the NCAA Division I baseball season of 2009. They played their home games at Tiger Field and Grayson Stadium in Savannah, Georgia. The team was coached by Carlton Hardy who was in his fourth season at Savannah State. [2] In 2009, the team led Division I in stolen bases (169 in 207 attempts) and in stolen bases per game (3.31). [3]

Iván Rodríguez Torres, nicknamed "Pudge" and "I-Rod", is a Puerto Rican former Major League Baseball catcher. A member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, Rodríguez is widely regarded as one of the greatest catchers in MLB history. He played for the Texas Rangers, Florida Marlins, Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, Houston Astros and Washington Nationals.
David Ray Roberts, nicknamed "Doc", is a Japanese-American professional baseball manager and former outfielder who is the manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for five MLB teams over a ten-year career and then coached for the San Diego Padres before being named Dodgers manager in 2016. Although he played for the Boston Red Sox for only part of one season, his most notable achievement as a player was a key stolen base in the 2004 American League Championship Series that extended the Red Sox's postseason, which culminated in a championship in the 2004 World Series. Roberts batted and threw left-handed.
Kenneth Lofton is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) center fielder. Lofton was a six-time All-Star (1994–1999), four-time Gold Glove Award winner (1993–1996), and at retirement, was ranked 15th among all-time stolen base leaders with 622. During his career, he played for the Houston Astros, Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves, Chicago White Sox, San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Texas Rangers.
Curtis Granderson Jr., nicknamed "the Grandyman", is an American former professional baseball outfielder. He played 16 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers, and Miami Marlins.
Eric James Byrnes, is a baseball analyst and former professional baseball outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Oakland Athletics, Colorado Rockies, Baltimore Orioles, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Seattle Mariners. Byrnes retired from playing in 2010 and was an analyst for MLB Network until 2021.

Kinsler was a four-time All Star, two-time Gold Glove winner, and a member of the 2018 World Series champion Boston Red Sox.
Jim "Wales" Walewander is an American former professional baseball infielder. Walewander was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 9th round of the 1983 Major League Baseball draft. During his professional career, he played for the Tigers, New York Yankees and California Angels of Major League Baseball (MLB). He attended Iowa State University and is an alumnus of Arizona State University and UCLA.
Cameron Keith Maybin is an American professional baseball broadcaster and former center fielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers, Florida / Miami Marlins, San Diego Padres, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Angels, Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, and New York Mets. He was the tenth overall pick in the 2005 MLB draft by the Tigers and debuted with them in 2007. With the Astros, he won the 2017 World Series.
Charles Columbus "Count" Campau was an American professional baseball outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1888 through 1894 for the Detroit Wolverines, St. Louis Browns, and Washington Senators. He was the American Association's home run leader in 1890 and was also the Browns' manager for 41 games that season.

The team played its home games at Tiger Arena in Savannah, Georgia. The Lady Tigers entered the season seeking to improve on the 9-22 record posted in the 2008-09 season.

The 2009 Texas Longhorns baseball team represented the University of Texas at Austin in the 2009 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Longhorns played their home games at UFCU Disch–Falk Field. Texas finished the regular season as the #1 team in the Big 12 Conference and the #5 team nationally. The Longhorns won the 2009 Big 12 Conference baseball tournament to earn an automatic bid to the 2009 NCAA Division I baseball tournament, defeating the Missouri Tigers 12–7 in the final. Texas was selected as the #1 seed in the Austin super regional, and as the #1 National Seed overall. Texas went 5–1 in the Regionals, with their one loss coming to TCU in the super regional. They defeated the Horned Frogs in the regional final to advance to the College World Series, marking their 32nd appearance all-time, and first since 2005.
Nicholas Blake Solak is an American professional baseball second baseman and outfielder in the Seattle Mariners organization. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Texas Rangers, Atlanta Braves and Detroit Tigers. Solak attended Naperville North High School in Naperville, Illinois, and the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky.
Carlton Hardy is an American college baseball coach. He is the head baseball coach at Savannah State University.
