The 2009 West Coast Conference Baseball Championship Series was held on May 22 and 23, 2009 [2] at San Diego's home stadium, Patterson Baseball Complex in Spokane, Washington, and pitted the top two finishers from the WCC regular season. The event determined the champion of the West Coast Conference for the 2009 NCAA Division I baseball season. Gonzaga won the series two games to none over Loyola Marymount and earned the league's automatic bid to the 2009 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. [3] This would be the final postseason conference championship for the WCC until a four-team tournament was launched in 2013.

During his tenure as head coach, Few has led the Bulldogs to the NCAA Tournament every season, a stretch that has garnered the Bulldogs recognition as a major basketball power despite playing in a mid-major conference. In his 25 seasons as head coach, his teams have won at least a share of 22 WCC regular season titles and 19 WCC tournament titles, and have participated in the National Championship game twice.

The West Coast Conference men's basketball tournament is the annual concluding tournament for the NCAA college basketball in the West Coast Conference (WCC). The winner of the tournament each year is guaranteed a place in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament for that season. Through 2008, the tournament was played on a rotating basis at the home courts of member teams. The 2009 edition was the first played at a neutral site, namely Orleans Arena in Paradise, Nevada, just outside Las Vegas. The semifinals are broadcast nationally on ESPN2 and the championship is broadcast nationally on ESPN.

Courtney Vandersloot is an American and Hungarian basketball point guard for the New York Liberty of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and for Fenerbahçe in the EuroLeague Women. Drafted by the Chicago Sky with the third pick in the 2011 WNBA draft, she was selected as an All-Star and named to the All-Rookie Team in her rookie year. She was named an All-Star again in 2019, 2021 and 2023, and led the Sky to their first WNBA Championship in 2021. Mark Andrew Machtolf is an American college baseball coach, the head coach of the Gonzaga Bulldogs of the West Coast Conference. He succeeded Steve Hertz, who retired after the 2003 season, after 23 years at the helm. Machtolf was an assistant to Hertz for the previous eight seasons (1996–2003). Under Machtolf, Gonzaga has made three NCAA tournament appearances. As a result of Gonzaga's successful season in 2009, Machtolf was named the WCC Coach of the Year.

The 2014 West Coast Conference women's basketball tournament was held March 6–11, 2014, at Orleans Arena in the Las Vegas Valley community of Paradise, Nevada. This was the sixth consecutive year the WCC Tournament took place in Vegas after the WCC and the Orleans Hotel and Casino, which operates the arena, reached a 3-year extension to keep the tournament in Vegas through 2016.

The 2014 West Coast Conference baseball tournament was held from May 22 through 24 at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton, California. The four team, double-elimination tournament, outside of the championship game, which is winner takes all, winner earned the league's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. The NCAA approved the use of experimental instant replay rules during the event. These rules are generally only in force during the College World Series, and allow umpires to use video to review fair/foul, home run, and spectator interference calls. The WCC made history in the Gonzaga/ Santa Clara elimination game when they had the first collegiate baseball review in history. The feat would be repeated in the WCC Championship, marking the second time replay has been used in a collegiate baseball game.

The 2016 West Coast Conference baseball tournament was held from May 26 through 28, 2016 at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton, California. Saint Mary's won the four team, double-elimination tournament winner to earn the league's automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

The team was led by head coach Mark Few, who was in his 19th season as head coach. The team played its home games at McCarthey Athletic Center in Spokane, Washington. This was the Bulldogs 38th season as a member of the West Coast Conference. They finished the season 32–5, 17–1 in WCC play to win the WCC regular season championship. They defeated Loyola Marymount, San Francisco and BYU to become champions of the WCC tournament. They received the WCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they defeated UNC Greensboro and Ohio State to advance to the Sweet Sixteen where they lost to Florida State.

The 2001 West Coast Conference Baseball Championship Series was held on May 18–20, 2001 at Pepperdine's home field, Eddy D. Field Stadium in Malibu, California, and pitted the winners of the conference's two four-team divisions. The event determined the champion of the West Coast Conference for the 2001 NCAA Division I baseball season. Pepperdine won the series two games to one over Gonzaga and earned the league's automatic bid to the 2001 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

The 2006 West Coast Conference Baseball Championship Series was held on May 26 through 28, 2006 at San Francisco's home stadium, Dante Benedetti Diamond at Max Ulrich Field in San Francisco, California, and pitted the top two finishers from the WCC regular season. The event determined the champion of the West Coast Conference for the 2006 NCAA Division I baseball season. Pepperdine won the series two games to one over Loyola Marymount and earned the league's automatic bid to the 2006 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.
