The Shockers finished the season 25–10, 12–6 in MVC play, lost in the championship game of the 2010 Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball tournament and were invited to the 2010 National Invitation Tournament where they lost in the first round to Nevada. They finish the season with an RPI of 68, much below their season average of 55. The Shockers also received votes in the AP Coaches Poll in the season, going as high as the #34 spot.
The Marist Red Foxes baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, United States. The team is a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. The team plays its home games at James J. McCann Baseball Field in Poughkeepsie, New York. Baseball was added to the Marist Athletic Department in the fall of 1990 and their inaugural season was 1991. The Red Foxes are coached by Lance Ratchford.
Todd Butler is an American college baseball coach and former player. He played college baseball at McNeese State University from 1985 to 1986 before transferring to the University of Oklahoma in 1987 and 1988. He spent three years as the head coach at McNeese State from 2001 to 2003 and was the head coach of the Wichita State University from 2014 to 2019. Butler spent 16 seasons as an assistant coach in the Southeastern Conference under legendary Alabama coach Jim Wells and Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn.

The 2016–17 Wichita State Shockers men's basketball team represented Wichita State University in the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at the Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas and were led by 10th-year head coach Gregg Marshall. They were members of the Missouri Valley Conference. They finished the season 31–5, 17–1 to finish in a tie for first place in MVC play. In the MVC tournament, they beat Bradley, Missouri State, and Illinois State to win the tournament championship. As a result, they earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. As the No. 10 seed in the South region, they defeated Dayton in the first round before losing to No. 2-seeded Kentucky in the second round.

They were led by first-year head coach Gary Thompson. The Shockers finished the season 21–9, 11–3 in Missouri Valley play to finish in first place. They received a bid to the 1965 NCAA Tournament and advanced to the first Final Four in school history.
The 2021 Mississippi State Bulldogs baseball team represented Mississippi State University in the 2021 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Bulldogs played their home games at Dudy Noble Field, Polk–DeMent Stadium. Mississippi State won the 2021 College World Series (CWS) Championship over Vanderbilt giving the Bulldogs their first team national championship in any team sport.
