The 2010 Alabama Crimson Tide softball team was an American softball team, representing the University of Alabama for the 2010 NCAA softball season. The Crimson Tide played its home games at the Alabama Softball Complex. The 2010 club made the postseason for the 12th straight year.

Previous season

The 2009 Crimson Tide went 52-9 overall and 21-6 in SEC play. They were named the #4 overall seed in the NCAA tournament, advanced to the semifinals of the Women's College World Series. Three Tide players were named All-Americans (center fielder Brittany Rogers, pitcher/firstbaseman Charlotte Morgan and pitcher Kelsi Dunne).

Pre-season

The Tide returns 13 letterwinners from a team that equaled its longest stay at the Women's College World Series in program history last season. All-Americans Morgan and Dunne return to the fold to lead Alabama in the 2010 season. On January 16, 2010, the Crimson Tide held their first official practice. [1]

The 2009 NCAA Division I softball tournament was held from May 15 through June 3, 2009 as part of the 2009 NCAA Division I softball season. The 64 NCAA Division I college softball teams were selected out of an eligible 284 teams on May 10, 2009. 30 teams were awarded an automatic bid as champions of their conference, and 34 teams were selected at-large by the NCAA Division I Softball Selection Committee. The tournament culminated with eight teams playing in the 2009 Women's College World Series at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Charlotte Lee Morgan is an America], former professional softball pitcher and current Head Coach for Cal State Northridge. She played college softball for Alabama from 2007 to 2010, where she is the career leader for the school in RBIs, also ranking top-15 in the NCAA Division I. She was also named a four-time all-conference honoree and twice named SEC Player of the Year. Morgan was the No. 1 draft pick in the 2010 National Pro Fastpitch Senior Draft, beginning her career with The USSSA Pride based in Kissimmee, Florida, winning a title in 2010. In 2020, Morgan was named the head coach of the California State University, Northridge softball team after previously working at several colleges as a pitching coach.
