2010 Rally America season

The 2010 Rally America season is the sixth season of Rally America. The season consists of 6 rallies and began on January 29, with the Sno* Drift National Rally in Michigan. They will also be hosting 3 rally-cross competitions in the fall at New Jersey Motor Sports Park. [1] The Rally in the 100 Acre Wood had Ken Block in a Ford Fiesta was the first time in 10 years that Ford has been on the podium. It also marked the first time since 2004 that a Subaru was not on the podium, [2] and the first time in history that a Subaru has not won the championship.

Antoine L'Estage won the Open championship, winning the rallies in Susquehannock and New England to give him an eventual 27-point winning margin over William Bacon. In the other classes, Patrick Moro won the Super Production Championship, and Christopher Duplessis won the championship for 2WD cars.

Sno*Drift is a rally racing event held in Montmorency County, Michigan, annually, with headquarters in Atlanta, Michigan. The event was the first Rally America National Rally Championship event of the season, and is currently the first American Rally Association National Championship. Sno*Drift is a winter rally, run primarily on snow-covered gravel surface roads, and is held in January or February. Unlike other snow rally events, studded tires cannot be used per Michigan law, which makes Sno*Drift particularly challenging.

Markku Allan Alén is a Finnish former rally and race car driver. Stig Lennart Blomqvist is a retired Swedish rally driver. He made his international breakthrough in 1971. The Rally America National Championship was the national championship of rallying events in the United States. The inaugural season was in 2005. Rally America was also the name given to the organization that sanctioned the championship, was briefly rebranded to RallyCar in July 2010, then reverted to Rally America the following year. 2018 was the final year that Rally America sanctioned a rally event. In 2019 Rally America briefly became a media organization with the stated goal of promoting rallying in the United States before pausing all social media posts and shutting down its official website.

Mikko Hirvonen is a Finnish former rally driver, and a current Rally-Raid driver, who drove in the World Rally Championship. He placed third in the drivers' championship and helped Ford to the manufacturers' title in both 2006 and 2007. In 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012 he finished runner-up to Sébastien Loeb. Hirvonen's co-driver was Jarmo Lehtinen from the 2003 season until his retirement in 2014, Lehtinen had replaced Miikka Anttila who co-drove with Hirvonen in the 2002 season.

Jari-Matti Latvala is a Finnish rally driver who has competed in the World Rally Championship (WRC). His co-driver for most of his career was Miikka Anttila, who co-drove for Latvala between the 2003 Rallye Deutschland and 2019 Rally Catalunya. He is well known for his aggressive driving style, which earns him many plaudits, and comparisons to the late Colin McRae. With 18 event victories in the WRC, he is the most successful driver to not have won a championship. Latvala is also the driver with the most World Rally starts in the sport which he achieved in 2019, 17 years after his debut.

Andrew Comrie-Picard is a Canadian race car driver, X Games athlete, stuntman, and TV personality. At age 32, he left his career as an entertainment lawyer in New York City to pursue a career in race car driving. He has since competed in the top levels of pro rally racing, pro drifting, desert off-road racing, short course off-road, hillclimbing, and endurance circuit racing. Other than racing, he has hosted and produced several automotive TV shows, as well as coordinated and driven stunts in feature films and television.

The Subaru World Rally Team (SWRT) was Subaru's World Rally Championship (WRC) team. It used a distinctive blue with yellow colour scheme that is a throwback to the sponsorship deal with State Express 555, a BAT cigarette brand popular in Asia. 555 logos were found on Subaru cars from 1993 to 2003, although less prevalent since 1999 due to BAT's participation in Formula One with British American Racing. Subaru's WRC efforts date back to 1980, however, in 1989 British firm Prodrive took over its operations, and its base moved from Japan to Banbury, England.

The 2011 Rally America season was the seventh season of Rally America. The season consisted of 6 rallies and began on January 29, with the Sno*Drift National Rally in Michigan. It was the first rally won by a Super Production Car in Rally America's history. At the end of the season Rally Car sold the rights to Rally American to investors who changed the series name back to Rally America.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Crazy Leo</span> Russian-Canadian rally driver

Leonid "Crazy Leo" Urlichich is a Russian-Canadian rally driver currently competing in the Canadian and the US national championships. He drives for a Toronto-based team Can-Jam Motorsports and has expressed ambitions to compete in the World Rally Championship.

The 2015 Rally America championship was the eleventh season of the Rally America series. The Rally America series is currently the premiere stage rally championship in the United States. The championship was won by the team of David Higgins and Craig Drew, representing Subaru Rally Team USA in their #75 2015 Subaru Impreza WRX STI. The team completed a perfect season, having won all 8 events. Higgins scored only six points shy of double the score achieved by championship runner's up, Subaru Impreza driver Piotr Fetela. Another Subaru driver, Lauchlin O'Sullivan was third in the championship at season's end.
