The 2013 Rally America Championship is the ninth season of the Rally America Championship. This championship is the premier rally championship in the United States. The season began 25 January in Michigan, and is scheduled to return to Michigan for the Lake Superior Performance Rally on 19 October after seven events. [1]

Contents

The championship was won by British driver David Higgins, his third consecutive championship victory. Higgins and co-driver Craig Drew took their Subaru Impreza to wins in the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood, Oregon Trail Rally and Lake Superior Performance Rally and finished in the top three placings in all seven rallies. Higgins finished 26 points ahead of Ford Fiesta driver Ken Block who won three of the other four events.

The 2013 World Rally Championship was the 41st season of the World Rally Championship, an auto racing championship recognised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile as the highest class of international rallying. The season was run over 13 rallies, starting with the Rallye Monte Carlo on 16 January, and finishing with the Wales Rally of Great Britain on 17 November. Volkswagen entered the series as a constructor with the Polo R WRC, while Ford and Mini ended their factory support for the Fiesta RS WRC and John Cooper Works WRC respectively, though both continued to make their cars available to customer teams.

The Volkswagen Polo R WRC is a World Rally Car built and operated by Volkswagen Motorsport and based on the Volkswagen Polo for use in the World Rally Championship. This Championship is the FIA regional rally championship for the North America and Central America (NACAM) region. The 2014 Rally America Championship was the tenth season of the Rally America Championship, the premier rally championship in the United States. The season began 24 January in Michigan, and returned to Michigan for the Lake Superior Performance Rally, the final round of the season, on 18 October after eight events.

The 2014 Codasur South American Rally Championship was an international rally championship sanctioned by the FIA and run by the Confederacion Deportiva Automovilismo Sudamericana (Codasur). The championship was contested over five events held in five South American countries from April to November. 2014 saw an Argentine event restored to the calendar after it was dropped from the 2013 calendar. The season had an earlier start in April with Rally Trans Itapua and Rally de Erechim swapping places in the calendar with the returning Rally Argentina slotting in between the two.

The 2014 Asia-Pacific Rally Championship season was an international rally championship sanctioned by the FIA. The championship was contested by a combination of regulations with Group N competing directly against Super 2000 cars for points.

The 2014 NACAM Rally Championship was the seventh season of the NACAM Rally Championship. This championship was the FIA regional rally championship for the North America and Central America (NACAM) region. The season began 28 March 2014 in Oaxaca, Mexico, and ended 23 November 2014 in Jamaica, after seven events. Mid-season events, the Venezuelan Rally Isla de Margarita and new rally Rally Guyana were removed from the calendar and replaced by two additional Colombian events, Rally Guane and Rally Volcan Peña Azul.

The 2015 Rally America championship was the eleventh season of the Rally America series. The Rally America series is currently the premiere stage rally championship in the United States. The championship was won by the team of David Higgins and Craig Drew, representing Subaru Rally Team USA in their #75 2015 Subaru Impreza WRX STI. The team completed a perfect season, having won all 8 events. Higgins scored only six points shy of double the score achieved by championship runner's up, Subaru Impreza driver Piotr Fetela. Another Subaru driver, Lauchlin O'Sullivan was third in the championship at season's end.
