This article details the fixtures and results of the Sri Lanka national football team in 2010.

The Sri Lanka national football team represents Sri Lanka in association football and is controlled by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka, the governing body for football in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka's home grounds are Sugathadasa Stadium and Kalutara Stadium. The Sri Lankan team was known as the Ceylon national football team until 1972 when Ceylon was renamed Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka national cricket team national sports team

The Sri Lanka national cricket team, nicknamed The Lions, represents Sri Lanka in international cricket. It is a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with Test, One-Day International (ODI) and T20 International (T20I) status. The team first played international cricket in 1926–27, and were later awarded Test status in 1982, which made Sri Lanka the eighth Test cricket playing nation. The team is administered by Sri Lanka Cricket.

Sri Lanka Cricket formerly known as the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) was first registered with the Ministry of Sports on 30 June 1975 as a national sports body. Initially named Board of Cricket for Sri Lanka (BCCSL), it was renamed Sri Lanka Cricket in 2003. The SLC is thus the apex national body for the administration and development of cricket in Sri Lanka, including management of the Sri Lanka national cricket team.

The Pakistan national cricket team, captained by Majid Khan, toured Australia in March 1979 and played two Test matches against the Australia national cricket team. The series was drawn 1–1. Pakistan visited Sri Lanka en route for home and played a match against the Sri Lankan national cricket team.

Cricket is the most popular sport in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is one of the twelve nations that take part in test cricket and one of the five nations that has won a cricket world cup. Sport in Sri Lanka is a significant part of Sri Lankan culture. Although the Sports Ministry named volleyball the national sport, the most popular sport is cricket. Rugby union is also popular. Other popular sports are water sports, badminton, athletics, football, basketball and tennis. Sri Lanka's schools and colleges regularly organize sports and athletics teams, competing on provincial and national levels.

The Sri Lanka women's national football team is the female representative football team for Sri Lanka. As of 2014 the national team has never entered qualifying for the FIFA Women's World Cup nor the AFC Women's Asian Cup.

The Sri Lankan national cricket team visited Pakistan in February to March 2000 and played a three-match Test series against the Pakistani national cricket team. Sri Lanka won the Test series 2–1. Sri Lanka were captained by Sanath Jayasuriya and Pakistan by Saeed Anwar or Moin Khan. In addition, the teams played a three-match Limited Overs International (LOI) series which Sri Lanka won 3–0.

The Indian national cricket team toured Sri Lanka in January and February 1974 to play two first-class and two limited overs matches against the Sri Lankan national cricket team. There were two further first-class matches against the Sri Lanka Board President's XI. India defeated Sri Lanka at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground by 6 wickets but the other three first-class games were impacted by the weather and were drawn. As Sri Lanka had not then achieved Test status, the internationals are classified as first-class matches. The Indian team was captained by Ajit Wadekar and Sri Lanka by Anura Tennekoon.

The England national cricket team, organised by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), toured India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka from December 1972 to March 1973 and played a five-match Test series against the India national cricket team followed by three Tests against the Pakistan national cricket team. England were captained by Tony Lewis. The Sri Lanka national cricket team was not Test-qualified at that time and played a single first-class match against MCC in Colombo.

The Sri Lanka national under-17 football team is the under-17 football (soccer) team of Sri Lanka. The team participates in the U-16 football competitions in international football and is controlled by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka. The team has never qualified for the FIFA U-17 World Cup or the AFC U-16 Championship.

The Zimbabwean national cricket team toured Sri Lanka in December 1983 and played two first-class matches and three Limited Overs Internationals (LOI) against the Sri Lankan national cricket team. At this time, Sri Lanka had just achieved Test status but Zimbabwe had not. Sri Lanka were captained by Ranjan Madugalle and Zimbabwe by John Traicos. The Zimbabwe team played two first-class matches versus the Sri Lanka Board President's XI at Tyronne Fernando Stadium and a Sri Lankan XI at Paikiasothy Saravanamuttu Stadium. Both games were drawn. Zimbabwe also played three limited overs matches against the Sri Lankan XI.

The Pakistan national cricket team toured Sri Lanka in January 1976 and played six matches including two internationals against the Sri Lankan national cricket team. As Sri Lanka had not then achieved Test status, the internationals are classified as first-class matches. Both games were played at the Paikiasothy Saravanamuttu Stadium in Colombo. Pakistan were captained by Intikhab Alam and Sri Lanka by Anura Tennekoon. Sri Lanka won the first by 4 wickets and Pakistan won the second by 4 wickets

Sri Lanka National U-23 Team is the national team that participates in international football tournaments, such as the Summer Olympics and the AFC U-23 Championship representing Sri Lanka. The team has won bronze medals at the South Asian Games in 2004 and at the 2014 Lusophony Games. The Sri Lanka National U-23 Team won the silver medal at the 2006 South Asian Games, the first silver medal won by Sri Lanka at an international tournament.
