The 2013–14 Hazfi Cup was the 27th season of the Iranian football knockout competition. Sepahan was the defending champion, but was eliminated by Sanat Naft in the Round of 32. The competition started on 4 September 2013 and ended on 14 February 2014. Tractor won the title, defeating Mes Kerman in the final.

The 2014–15 season is Tractor's 6th season in the Persian Gulf Pro League. They will also be competing in the Hazfi Cup & AFC Champions League. Tractor is captained by Mehdi Kiani.

The 2015–16 season was Sepahan's 15th season in the Pro League, and their 22nd consecutive season in the top division of Iranian Football and 62nd year in existence as a football club. They competed in the Hazfi Cup and the AFC Champions League. Sepahan was captained by Moharram Navidkia.

The 2015–16 season are Foolad's 14th season in the Persian Gulf Pro League. They competed in the Hazfi Cup which they were eliminated by Esteghlal in Round 4. Foolad is captained by Leonard Mesaric.

The 2017–18 Persian Gulf Pro League was the 35th season of Iran's Football League and 17th as Persian Gulf Pro League since its establishment in 2001. Persepolis were the defending champions. The season featured 14 teams from the 2016–17 Persian Gulf Pro League and two new teams promoted from the 2016–17 Azadegan League: Pars Jonoubi Jam as champions and Sepidrood. The league started on 27 July 2017 and ended on 27 April 2018. Persepolis won the Pro League title for the fourth time in their history, a total 11th Iranian title.

The 2021–22 Esteghlal Football Club season was the club's 76th season in existence and the 28th consecutive season in the top flight of Iranian football. In addition to the domestic league, Esteghlal participated in this season's editions of the Hazfi Cup, and the AFC Champions League (2021). The club will not compete in the AFC Champions League (2022) after failing to obtain an AFC license. The season covered the period from 13 September 2021 to 30 May 2022.
