The team played its home games at the brand new FAU Stadium. They are members of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 1–11, 0–8 in Sun Belt play to finish in last place.

Howard Schnellenberger American football coach

Howard Leslie Schnellenberger is a retired American football coach with long service at both the professional and college levels. He held head coaching positions with the National Football League's Baltimore Colts and in college for the University of Miami, University of Oklahoma, University of Louisville and Florida Atlantic University. He won a national championship with Miami in 1983. Schnellenberger also worked extensively as an assistant coach at the college and pro levels, including as part of the staff of the undefeated 1972 Miami Dolphins. He is also famous for recruiting Joe Namath to Alabama for Bear Bryant in 1961.

Florida Atlantic Owls football program represents Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in the sport of American football. The Owls compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the East Division of Conference USA (CUSA). The Owls' head coach is Willie Taggart. Florida Atlantic has produced a Sun Belt Conference co-championship team in 2007, two Conference USA championships in 2017 and 2019, along with 4 postseason bowl appearances and one appearance in the 2003 I-AA Playoffs. The Owls play their home games at FAU Stadium which has a seating capacity of 29,419.

FAU Stadium is a college football stadium located at the north end of the main campus of Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton, Florida. Opened in 2011, it is home to the Florida Atlantic Owls football team and is intended to be the first part of FAU's multi-use development project, "Innovation Village".

The Florida Atlantic Owls are the athletics teams of Florida Atlantic University (FAU). The Owls participate in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)'s Division I as members of Conference USA. Florida Atlantic has attracted high-profile coaches in the past for various sports, including Howard Schnellenberger and Lane Kiffin for football and Mike Jarvis for basketball. Other former coaches include Matt Doherty, Rex Walters, and Sidney Green. As of March 2018, the Owls are led by athletic director Brian White.

The 2006 Florida Atlantic University Owls football team represented Florida Atlantic University in the 2006 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was coached by Howard Schnellenberger and played their home games at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Owls entered their first season as full members of the Sun Belt Conference. There was a battle for the starting quarterback position between freshman Rusty Smith and junior Sean Clayton. Throughout the season they split playing time.

Kennesaw State Owls

The Kennesaw State Owls fields 17 varsity athletics teams, competing for Kennesaw State University. After spending ten years in Division II's Peach Belt Conference, the university fully transitioned to Division I status in the National Collegiate Athletic Association at the beginning of the 2009–10 season. All of Kennesaw State's sports teams compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference, except for the football team, which is an associate member of the Big South Conference. The school mascot is Scrappy the Owl.

The 2012–13 Florida Atlantic Owls men's basketball team represented Florida Atlantic University during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Owls, led by fifth year head coach Mike Jarvis, played their home games at the FAU Arena, and were members of the East Division of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 14–18, 9–11 in Sun Belt play to finish in fifth place in the East Division. They lost in the first round of the Sun Belt Tournament to Troy.

John McCormack is an American college baseball coach who has been the head coach of Florida Atlantic (FAU) since the start of the 2009 season. McCormack was named the Sun Belt Coach of the Year in 2010, and the Owls have appeared in two NCAA Tournaments under him. Previously, he served as an assistant at FAU from 1991–2008. McCormack is an alumnus of both Indian River Community College and Lynn University.
