L. League Japanese association football league

The L. League is the top flight of women's association football in Japan. The league consists of three divisions: Divisions 1 and 2 have the nickname Nadeshiko League and Division 3 the Challenge League. Since 2008 it has been sponsored by Plenus (株式会社プレナス), a fast food company based in Fukuoka, and are thus billed as Plenus Nadeshiko League and Plenus Challenge League.

INAC Kobe Leonessa is a Japanese football club from Kobe, founded in 2001. INAC stands for International Athletic Club while Leonessa means Lioness in Italian.

Nadeshiko League Cup was cancelled due to the devastating damage from 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami on 11 March. Season opener became Week 5 (29 April) as the earthquake made Week 1 to 4 rescheduled chaotically after 11 June. [1] The 4 games of Week 1 scheduled on 7/30, 7/31, 7/24, 6/11, and Week 2 on 7/24, 8/6, 6/12, 6/12. Such disorder continued until Week 4. [1]

The 2011 earthquake off the Pacific coast of Tōhoku was a magnitude 9.0–9.1 (Mw) undersea megathrust earthquake off the coast of Japan that occurred at 14:46 JST on Friday 11 March 2011, with the epicentre approximately 70 kilometres (43 mi) east of the Oshika Peninsula of Tōhoku and the hypocenter at an underwater depth of approximately 29 km (18 mi). The earthquake is often referred to in Japan as the Great East Japan Earthquake and is also known as the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake, the Great Sendai Earthquake, the Great Tōhoku Earthquake, and the 3.11 earthquake.

The Empress's Cup All-Japan Women's Soccer Championship Tournament, or The Empress's Cup, is a Japanese Women's football competition. As an elimination tournament, it can be considered the female counterpart to the men's Emperor's Cup. The name "Empress's Cup" has been used since the 2012 season as the Empress's Cup trophy was founded in that year.
