The 2012 ASB Chatham Cup is New Zealand's 85th knockout football competition.
The 2012 competition has a preliminary round, a qualification round, and four rounds proper before quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final. Competition is run in three regions (northern, central, southern) until the quarter-finals, from which stage the draw is open. In all, 124 teams entered the competition.

The Chatham Cup, currently known as the ISPS Handa Chatham Cup for sponsorship purposes, is New Zealand's premier knockout tournament in men's association football. It is held annually, with the final contested in September. The current champions of the Chatham Cup are Birkenhead United, who defeated Western Suburbs on penalties in the 2018 final.
Team Wellington Football Club is a New Zealand semi-professional football club based in the suburb of Miramar in Wellington, New Zealand. They currently compete in the ISPS Handa Premiership. Team Wellington have traditionally been one of the most successful football clubs in New Zealand since their inception in 2004, having been crowned league champions twice and won the 2018 OFC Champions League. Their home games are played at David Farrington Park.
