The 2013 FIBA Asia Championship for Women was the qualifying tournament for FIBA Asia at the 2014 FIBA World Championship for Women in Turkey. The tournament was held in Bangkok, Thailand from October 27 to November 3.
The championship was divided into two levels: Level I and Level II. The two lowest finishers of Level I met the top two finishers of Level II to determine which teams qualify for the top Level of the 2015 Championship. The losers were relegated to Level II.
Japan defeated South Korea 65–43 in the final to capture their second title. [1]
According to FIBA Asia Rules, the number of participating teams in the FIBA Asia Championship for Women was set at twelve. In order to balance the level of competitions, the Championship shall be played in two levels: Level I and Level II. The number of the teams in Level I is set at six. [2] The six teams of Level I are set with reference to the 2011 FIBA Asia Championship for Women. The six teams of Level II are set with reference to the first six teams registered with respect to the deadlines. [3] [4]

The Philippines men's national basketball team is managed by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
The Lebanese national basketball team is the basketball team of men representing Lebanon in international competitions. Lebanon has been considered one of the top teams in the FIBA Asia sector after coming runners up on three occasions during the 2001 FIBA Asia Championship, the 2005 FIBA Asia Championship and the 2007 FIBA Asia Championship.

The 2013 FIBA Asia Championship for Men was the intercontinental championship for basketball organized by FIBA Asia that served as the qualifying tournament for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain. The tournament was held from August 1–11 in Metro Manila, Philippines. Beirut, Lebanon was supposed to host the tournament but the hosting rights was given to the Philippines citing the Syrian Civil War and security concerns in the Middle East in general. This was also the last Asian Championships that served as the qualifying round for the FIBA Basketball World Cup, as a qualifying window will be used starting 2019.

The tournament was held from 23 to 29 July in Bangalore, India. Before this edition, the tournament was known as the FIBA Asia Championship for Women, and only involved FIBA Asia members. FIBA Oceania teams Australia and New Zealand, as well as Fiji competed in the tournament for the first time.
The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification for the FIBA Asia-Oceania region, began in November 2017 and concluded in February 2019. The process determined the seven teams that would join the automatically qualified hosts China at the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
The FIBA Women's Asia Cup Most Valuable Player Award is a FIBA award given every two years, to the Most Outstanding player throughout the tournament.
The FIBA Women's Asia Cup All-Tournament Team is a FIBA award given every two years, awarded to the five strongest competitors throughout the tournament.
The 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification for the FIBA Asia-Oceania region, will begin in November 2021 and will conclude in February 2023.
