Local elections were held in Kajiado County to elect a Governor and County Assembly on 4 March 2013. [1] Under the new constitution, which was passed in a 2010 referendum, the 2013 general elections were the first in which Governors and members of the County Assemblies for the newly created counties were elected.

Kiambu County Place in Kenya

Kiambu County is a county in the former Central Province of Kenya. Its capital is Kiambu and its largest town is Thika. Kiambu County borders Nairobi and Kajiado Counties to the South, Machakos to the East, Murang‘a to the North and North East, Nyandarua to the North West, and Nakuru to the West and has a population of 2,417,735.

He was also a senior elder of the Maasai community until his sudden death on 8 July 2017.

He belongs to Jubilee Party and was elected to represent the Kajiado South Constituency (Loitoktok) in the National Assembly of Kenya since the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election.

Counties of Kenya

The counties of Kenya are geographical units envisioned by the 2010 Constitution of Kenya as the units of devolved government. The powers are provided in Articles 191 and 192, and in the fourth schedule of the Constitution of Kenya and the County Governments Act of 2012. The counties are also single-member constituencies for the election of members of parliament to the Senate of Kenya and special women members of parliament to the National Assembly of Kenya. As of 2013 general elections, there are 47 counties whose size and boundaries are based on the 47 legally recognised Districts of Kenya. Following the re-organisation of Kenya's national administration, counties were integrated into a new national administration with the national government posting county commissioners to represent it at the counties.

He has a master's degree in Educational Leadership and Divinity and previously served as Director of Programmes and Projects in the Ministry of Energy. On 12/12/12 President Kibaki Appointed him to his Cabinet as an Assistant Minister for Regional Development.

Joseph Ole Lenku

Joseph Jama Ole Lenku is a Kenyan politician who is serving as the second Governor of Kajiado County after winning in the Kenyan General Elections on 8 August 2017. Lenku was Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government from 2013 to 2014.

She was the first elected female Maasai member of parliament in 2013 in a National historic win even after elders had sworn to "curse" her and her supporters for defying the patriarchal norms of the Maasai community by daring to seek a seat in elected office - something they believed to be reserved only for men. She was re-elected for a second term as MP for Kajiado East Constituency in August 2017.

Local elections were held in Kenya on 4 March 2013 as part of the general elections. Voters elected governors and members of County Assemblies of the 47 counties created by the 2010 constitution.

David Ole Nkedianye is a Kenyan politician who served as the 1st governor of Kajiado County. Nkedianye won the Kajiado county 2013 gubernatorial elections closely defeating Parantai Moses of the Democratic Party (Kenya)

Kajiado West constituency is an electoral sub-county In Kajiado County Kenya. The current member of parliament is George Sunkuiya who came after winning 2017 election over Moses Ole Sakuda. Kajiado West has five wards, They include Keekonyokie, magadi ward, iloodokilani, Ewuaso oo nkidong'i ward and mosiro ward. Each of which has a member of the County Assembly. This constituency has a population of about 104,300 people and 52,453 registered voters. Kajiado west has major towns such as Ngong which also include Ngong Hills, part of Kiserian and the Kiserian dam and isinya.

Keekonyokie ward is an electorate ward that was established in 2012 after devolution as per the Kenyan constitution of 2010 and was ranked as number 187 in Kenyan constituencies. Keekonyokie has a population of approximately 33,562 and was devolved from Kajiado North Constituency after devolution. Moses Saoyo became the second MCA for keekonyokie after Hon George Sunkuya is the current member of county assembly for Keekonyokie after the 2013 general elections. Keekonyokie is the most dense ward and the smallest in Kajiado West constituency with an area of 807 km² and has Kisamis near Kiserian as the administration centre for the ward.

Granton Graham Samboja is a Kenyan politician and media executive currently serving as the second governor of Taita Taveta County in the Republic of Kenya. He was elected into office at the General Elections held on 8 August 2017. He is a member of the Wiper Democratic Movement. Samboja capitalized on his background in the media and his strong links with President Uhuru Kenyatta to get into politics. His education background remains the subject of controversy.

Joseph Manje

Joseph Wathigo Manje is a Kenyan politician, a teacher, and an entrepreneur, and currently the Member of Parliament for Kajiado North Constituency in Kajiado County. He is a member of the ruling Jubilee Party under President Uhuru Kenyatta. He previously served as a Commissioner at the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) as well as the Electoral Commission of Kenya's (ECK) South Rift Presidential Election Zonal Coordinator. He also served as a teacher employed by Kenya's Teachers Service Commission. He has business interests in the leather and construction industries.
