TV8 is a Turkish free-to-air television channel owned by MNG Media Group, which started broadcasting on 22 February 1999. Its current owner is Acun Medya. Aside from having national coverage on terrestrial television, it is also carried on cable operators and satellite providers like Kablo TV, Tivibu, Digiturk and D-Smart. TV8 as a news channel started broadcasting in 2005, becoming part of the format and logo by changing the entertainment channels. The programs include music, entertainment, contests, sports, talk and news. On March 17, 2016, TV8 announced that it had acquired the Formula 1 broadcasting rights for one season. TV8 is the local broadcaster of TV shows like The Voice, Got Talent, Survivor and Utopia.

O Ses Türkiye is a Turkish reality singing competition and local version of The Voice. It started on October 10, 2011. O Ses Türkiye is presented by Acun Ilıcalı.

Samra Rahimli is an Azerbaijani singer. In 2015, she competed in O Ses Türkiye where she made it to the quarterfinals and in March 2016, she became a finalist on the first season of Səs Azərbaycan. On 10 March 2016, she was announced as the Azerbaijani act for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Miracle". Rahimli performed during Semi Final 1 and successfully progressed to the Grand Final where she placed 17th with 117 points.

Azerbaijan participated in the Turkvision Song Contest 2015 which took place in Istanbul, Turkey. Azad Azerbaijan TV (ATV) was responsible for organising their entry for the contest. Mehman Tağıyev won the national final, Azerbaycan`ın Sesi, on 29 September, earning the right to represent Azerbaijan in the contest. On 8 October, his song, "Istanbul" was internally selected. Azerbaijan placed 7th with 155 points.

Tankurt Tan, better known by his stage name Tankurt Manas, is a Turkish rapper and songwriter.

The tenth season of the singing competition O Ses Türkiye premiered on 2 October 2021, at TV8 and broadcasts at 20:00 every Saturday.
