The 2014 Akron Zips men's soccer team will represent The University of Akron during the 2014 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. It will be the 65th season of the university fielding a program. The Zips enter the season as the two-time defending MAC Men's Soccer Tournament champions.
The Akron Zips men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of the University of Akron. The team is a member of the Mid-American Conference of Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Akron is regularly ranked in the Top 10 NSCAA collegiate men's soccer poll. They have been ranked No. 1 previously in 2005, 2009, 2010, and 2016. The Zips have played their home games at FirstEnergy Stadium-Cub Cadet Field, formerly named Lee R. Jackson Soccer Field and Cub Cadet Field, since 1966. They won their first national championship in 2010.
The 2014 NCAA Division I men's soccer season was the 56th season of NCAA championship men's college soccer. The regular season began in late August 2014 and continued into November 2014. The season culminated with the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship in December 2014. There are 205 teams in men's Division I competition. The defending champions were the Notre Dame Fighting Irish who won its first NCAA soccer title by defeating the Maryland 2-1 in the 2013 College Cup. The season concluded with Virginia defeating UCLA 0–0 to win its seventh NCAA soccer title.

The 2010 Akron Zips men's soccer team represented the University of Akron during the 2010 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The Zips finished the season winning the 2010 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship, making it the first time in their history to win the national title.
Lee R. Jackson Baseball Field is a baseball venue on the campus of the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio, United States. It is part of the 23-acre (9.3 ha) Lee R. Jackson Athletic Complex which also includes the varsity softball field, track and field complex, a football practice field, and FirstEnergy Stadium–Cub Cadet Field. Jackson Field was the home venue for the Akron Zips baseball team, a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level and the Mid-American Conference East division, until the program was discontinued in 2015. Jackson Field will once again become the Zips' home when the baseball program resumes play in the 2020 season. The venue is named for Lee R. Jackson, former chairman of the university's board of directors. Built in 1967, the field has a capacity of 1,500 spectators.

The Zips, led by tenth year head coach Keith Dambrot, played their home games at the James A. Rhodes Arena as members of the East Division of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 21–13, 12–6 in MAC play to finish in second place in the East Division. They advanced to the semifinals of the MAC Tournament where they lost to Western Michigan. They were invited to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they lost in the first round to IPFW.

The 2016–17 Akron Zips men's basketball team represented the University of Akron during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Zips, led by 13th-year head coach Keith Dambrot, played their home games at the James A. Rhodes Arena as members of the East Division of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 27–9, 14–4 in MAC play to win the MAC East Division and MAC overall regular season championship. They defeated Eastern Michigan and Ball State to advance to the championship game of the MAC Tournament where they lost to Kent State, losing in the championship game for the second consecutive year. As a regular season conference champion who failed to win their conference tournament, they received an automatic bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Houston in the first round before losing to Texas–Arlington.

The match was played on December 9, 2018 at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara, California, a soccer-specific stadium that is home to UC Santa Barbara Gauchos men's and women's soccer programs.
