The 2014 Sacramento Republic FC season was the club's inaugural season of existence. The club played in USL Pro, the third tier of the American soccer pyramid. The season began March 29 and concluded on September 6. The Republic won the USL Pro Championship, defeating the Harrisburg City Islanders 2–0. [1]
On December 3, 2012, USL Pro announced that a Sacramento expansion team would join the league for the 2014 season. [2] On July 15, 2013, Predrag "Preki" Radosavljević was announced as head coach of the new franchise. [3] The official name of the team and team shield were decided by fan vote. On July 18, 2013, the franchise officially announced the team name Sacramento Republic FC during the first annual Sacramento Soccer Day. [4]
While the club always had plans to build a permanent stadium for home matches, an agreement was made between the Republic and Sacramento City College which would allow the Republic to use Hughes Stadium as their home pitch until a permanent home could be established. On November 14, 2013, the club announced that they'd reached an agreement with Ovation Food Service and Cal Expo to build an 8,000 seat, soccer-specific stadium on the site of the California State Fair. [5] Later, the club announced a naming deal with local Sacramento company Bonney Plumbing Heating and Air which would formally change the stadium's name to Bonney Field.
The 2014 USL Pro season started March 22, with the Republic playing its first match on March 29 away to LA Galaxy II, ending in a 1–1 draw. Their first home game wasn't until nearly a month later, when they took on Harrisburg City Islanders in a 2–1 loss at Hughes Stadium.
Throughout the course of the 2014 season, the Republic regularly hosted sold-out crowds. At their first home game, the Republic smashed the existing regular season single game attendance record (previously held by Orlando City FC and set on August 11, 2013, with a total of 10,697 in attendance) during their first home match with a total of 20,231 in attendance. The Republic would meet this figure, selling out the stadium, in all but one of their games at Hughes.

The USL Championship (USLC) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States that began play in 2011. The USL is sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation as a Division II league since 2017, placing it under Major League Soccer in the hierarchy. The USL is headquartered in Tampa, Florida.
The 2011 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup was the 98th edition of the USSF's annual national soccer championship, running from June through early October. Seattle Sounders FC, who entered the competition as the two-time defending champions, successfully defended their title again. They became the third team in U.S. Open Cup history to win three straight U.S. Open Cups. As winner of the Open Cup, the Sounders earned a place in the 2012–13 CONCACAF Champions League Group stage. The farthest advancing USL Pro team was the Richmond Kickers.
Sacramento Republic FC is an American professional soccer team based in Sacramento, California, that plays in the Western Conference of the USL Championship, the second level in US soccer. Co-founded by Warren Smith and Joe Wagoner in 2012, the team started play in 2014 at the 20,231-seat Hughes Stadium, before moving midseason to their current home at Heart Health Park. Republic FC won the 2014 USL championship and have made the playoffs eight times.
The 2013 USL Pro season was the 27th season of third-division soccer in the United States, and is the third season of the United Soccer Leagues' (USL) PRO professional competition. The number of teams increased from eleven to thirteen with Phoenix FC and VSI Tampa Bay FC joining the league as expansion franchises.
The 2013 season was the Harrisburg City Islanders's 10th season of competitive soccer - its tenth season in the third division of American soccer and its third season in USL Pro since the league was first created with the City Islanders as one of the original 10 founder-members.
The 2014 Pittsburgh Riverhounds season was the club's fifteenth season of existence. It is the Riverhounds' fourth season playing in the USL Professional Division. It was the second season the Riverhounds played at Highmark Stadium, a 3,500 capacity soccer specific stadium.

The 2014 Orlando City SC season was the club's fourth season of existence in Orlando, and their final season playing in the lower divisions. A Major League Soccer expansion franchise with the same name began play in 2015. The team entered the season as the defending USL Pro champions, beating Charlotte Eagles in the Championship Game after finishing second in the regular season.
The 2014 Arizona United SC season was the club's first season of existence, playing in the USL Professional Division.
The 2014 Richmond Kickers season was the club's twenty-second season of existence, seventh-consecutive year in the third-tier of American soccer, and their third-consecutive season playing in USL Pro. For the second season, the Kickers reached the semifinals of the USL Pro playoffs, before losing to the Harrisburg City Islanders. The Kickers finished shy of defending their regular season title, finishing in fourth place in the league table. In the Open Cup, the Kickers were eliminated in the fourth round proper by Major League Soccer outfit, New England Revolution.
The 2014 Oklahoma City Energy FC season was the club's first season in existence, and their first season playing in the USL Pro, the third tier of the American soccer pyramid. It was the first season for an Oklahoma-based professional soccer club since 2000, when the Tulsa Roughnecks disbanded.

The 2015 Sacramento Republic FC season was the club's second season of existence. The club played in the newly rebranded United Soccer League (USL), formerly known as USL Pro, the third tier of the American soccer pyramid. After offseason expansion of the USL from 14 to 24 teams and division into an Eastern and Western Conference, Sacramento Republic FC competed in the new Western Conference. The Republic entered the season as defending champions, having defeated the Harrisburg City Islanders 2–0 in the USL final on September 27, 2014. The season began on March 21 and concluded on September 20.
The Eastern Conference is one of two conferences in USL Championship soccer.
The 2015 Tulsa Roughnecks FC season was the club's first season of existence, and their first in the United Soccer League in the third division of American soccer. Including the previous iterations of franchises named "Tulsa Roughnecks", this was the 15th season of a soccer club named the "Roughnecks" playing in the Tulsa metropolitan area.
