The 2014 BYU Cougars softball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2014 NCAA Division I softball season. Gordon Eakin entered the year as head coach of the Cougars for a 12th consecutive season. The Cougars entered 2014 being in their fourth conference in four years time. In 2011 the Cougars were part of the Mountain West Conference. In 2012, they joined the Western Athletic Conference for softball only. [1] In 2013, they were part of the Pacific Coast Softball Conference, [2] and in 2014 they joined the West Coast Conference. The WCC was in its first season hosting softball after Pacific joined the conference, giving them the six members needed to host softball for the conference. [3] The Cougars had won their last 3 conference championships and entered 2014 as the favorites in the WCC. [4] The Cougars won the conference championship with a sweep of Saint Mary's on April 9 and qualified for their tenth consecutive NCAA softball tournament. [5] After upsetting Northwestern on Thursday, the Cougars lost twice on Friday to be eliminated from the Eugene region with a 34–23 overall record.

BYU entered the 2014 season with two new assistants. At the end of the 2013 season assistant coach Vaughn Alvey announced his retirement after 11 seasons with the Cougars. Meanwhile, Ianeta Le'i left BYU to pursue other interests after 7 seasons with the Cougars. [7] To replace the departing assistants, Gordon Eakin would interview and hire former Cougar alum Kristin Delahoussaye, who had been serving as an assistant softball and strength coach at Dixie State College and Salt Lake City Pitching Academy head coach Peter Meredith. [8]

During the 2014 season BYUtv broadcast 8 home games: Apr. 11 & 12 (DH) vs. Santa Clara, Apr. 18 vs. Weber State, Apr. 25 (DH) vs. Loyola Marymount, and May 9 (DH) vs. Saint Mary's. Spencer Linton acted as the play-by-play man for these games while former Cougar softball coach Vaughn Alvey provided the analysis.
TheW.tv streamed 11 home games: Mar. 25 vs. Oregon, Mar. 28 & 29 (DH) vs. Idaho State, Apr. 2 vs. Utah State, Apr. 15 (DH) vs. Southern Utah, Apr. 26 vs. Loyola Marymount, May 6 (DH) vs. Utah Valley, and May 10 vs. Saint Mary's. Robbie Bullough provided play-by-play for 9 games while Ty Brandenburg provided play-by-play for the Utah Valley double header. Bailey Higgins provided analysis for all but the Oregon game.
The Mar. 20 game at Utah was broadcast by Pac-12 Network with Krista Blunk providing play-by-play and Teri Goldberg providing the analysis.
BYU Radio would provide a game broadcast for two road games during the season. The Apr. 8 game at Utah Valley and the Apr. 30 game at Weber State would have a radio only broadcast with Ty Brandenburg providing the call. They would also simulcast all BYUtv games.
Road games at Pacific (Pacific Portal), at San Diego State (MW Network [ permanent dead link ]), at Weber State (Watch Big Sky), and at Utah Valley (YouTube) had streams available through the opponents athletic websites. All games during the Rainbow Wahine Classic would stream on BigWest.tv.
The NCAA Regional games vs. Northwestern had an audio broadcast online via NUsports.com with Doug Meffley providing the call. Mike Brown provided the NCAA Regional game vs. Washington on Gohuskies.com.
The Pacific Coast Softball Conference (PCSC) was an NCAA Division I conference that only sponsored women's softball. It was founded in 2002, beginning play in spring 2003, with six members in the Western United States. The PCSC expanded to 12 members for the 2009–10 school year, and maintained that size for three seasons, but major conference realignment first decimated the conference and then led to its demise after the 2013 softball season.
The 2011–12 BYU Cougars women's basketball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2011–12 college basketball season. This was head coach Jeff Judkins eleventh season at BYU. The Cougars, played in their first season in the West Coast Conference and played their home games at the Marriott Center. The Cougars won the 2011 Hukilau Invitational and the 2012 West Coast Conference Basketball Tournament, earning themselves a 10-Seed in the NCAA Tournament. They lost in the first round to DePaul.
The 2012–13 BYU Cougars women's basketball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2012–13 college basketball season. It was head coach Jeff Judkins twelfth season at BYU. The Cougars, members of the West Coast Conference, played their home games at the Marriott Center. They finished the season 23–11, 11–5 in conference play, to finish tied for 3rd in the conference. The Cougars advanced to the second round of the 2013 Women's National Invitation Tournament, where they lost to conference foe Saint Mary's. In an unusual event, the leader at Halftime of all 3 BYU/ Saint Mary's meetings would go on to lose the match.
The 2012–13 Santa Clara Broncos men's basketball team represented the University of Santa Clara during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This was head coach Kerry Keating's sixth season at Santa Clara. The Broncos played their home games at the Leavey Center and were members of the West Coast Conference. They finished the season 26–12, 9–7 in WCC play to finish in fourth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the WCC tournament to Loyola Marymount. They were invited to the 2013 College Basketball Invitational where they defeated Vermont, Purdue and Wright State to advance to the best-of-three games finals against George Mason. They won the series 2 games to 1 to become the 2013 CBI Champions. Santa Clara is the first school to win a CBI championship and a CIT championship.
The 2012–13 Saint Mary's Gaels women's basketball team represented Saint Mary's College of California in the 2012–13 college basketball season. It was head coach Paul Thomas's seventh season at Saint Mary's. The Gaels, members of the West Coast Conference, played their home games at the McKeon Pavilion. They finished the season at 23–11, 11–5 in conference play, and clinched the #3 seed in the WCC Tourney. After losing in the semifinals of the WCC Tournament, Saint Mary's was invited to participate in the 2013 Women's National Invitation Tournament, where they advanced to the quarterfinal round before being eliminated.

BYU's baseball team came off a 2012 season in which they were 22–27. The Cougars played their home games at Larry H. Miller Field, part of the Miller Park Baseball/ Softball Complex. Picked to finish sixth in the WCC, BYU stunned most people and finished in a 3-way tie for second place. The Cougars won the #3 seed in the WCC Tournament where they knocked out #1-seed Gonzaga. BYU lost twice to eventual tournament champion San Diego to finish the season 32–21.

The Cougars came off a season where they exceeded expectations. After being picked to finish sixth, the Cougars finished in a 3-way tie for second and eliminated regular season champion Gonzaga in the WCC tournament. The Cougars would finish 32–21.
The 2015 BYU Cougars baseball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2015 NCAA Division I baseball season. Mike Littlewood acted in his 3rd season as head coach of the Cougars. For the second consecutive year BYU was picked to finish sixth in the WCC Pre-season rankings. After using three stadiums last season, the Cougars played all of their home games at Larry H. Miller Field. The Cougars surpassed expectations in the 2015 season. BYU won 7 of their 9 conference series, claimed the 3-seed in the WCC Tournament, and lost 0 home series for the season. The Cougars went 0–2 in the WCC Tournament, losing both games in the ninth inning, to finish the season 28–25, 16–11 in conference play.

The Cougars entered 2015 having won their last 6 conference championships and as the favorites in the WCC. After sweeping a double header from Santa Clara on May 1, BYU won the 2015 WCC regular season title and became the first team to clinch a spot in the 2015 NCAA Division I softball tournament. The berth would be BYU's eleventh consecutive berth in the NCAA tournament.

The 2016 BYU Cougars baseball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2016 NCAA Division I baseball season. Mike Littlewood acted in his fourth season as head coach of the Cougars. BYU was picked to finish fifth in the WCC Pre-season rankings. The Cougars would claim a co-regular season title before falling in the WCC Tournament.
The 2017–18 BYU Cougars men's basketball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. It was head coach Dave Rose's 13th season at BYU and the Cougars seventh season as members of the West Coast Conference. The Cougars played their home games at the Marriott Center in Provo, Utah. They finished the season 24–11, 11–7 in West Coast Conference play to finish in third place. As the No. 3 seed in the WCC tournament, they defeated San Diego in the quarterfinals and Saint Mary's in the semifinals before losing to Gonzaga in the championship game. They received an at-large bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they were defeated by Stanford in the first round.

The 2021 BYU Cougars softball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2021 NCAA Division I softball season. Gordon Eakin entered the year as head coach of the Cougars for a 19th consecutive season. 2021 was the eighth season for the Cougars as members of the WCC in softball. The Cougars entered 2021 having won their last 11 conference championships, though they never made it to conference play in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2021 BYU Cougars baseball team represented Brigham Young University during the 2021 NCAA Division I baseball season. Mike Littlewood acted as head coach of the Cougars for a ninth consecutive season. The Cougars were picked to finish fourth in the WCC Pre-season poll. The Cougars entered the season after having watched the WCC cancel the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a cost containment measure, the WCC cut the 2021 baseball tournament, so the regular season champion will got the conferences auto-bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Cougars went 23–27 overall, 15–12 in conference, and finished fourth in the standings.

Gordon Eakin entered the year as head coach of the Cougars for a 20th consecutive season. 2022 was the ninth season for the Cougars as members of the WCC in softball. The Cougars entered 2022 having won their last 12 conference championships and having been picked as the favorites to win the 2022 WCC title.
The 2022 BYU Cougars baseball team represented Brigham Young University during the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season. Mike Littlewood began the season as acting head coach of the Cougars for a tenth consecutive season. However, on April 11 Littlewood announced he was stepping away from BYU Baseball for personal reasons that were undisclosed. Assistant coach Trent Pratt was named acting head coaching for the remainder of the season.

The 2023 BYU Cougars softball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2023 NCAA Division I softball season. Gordon Eakin entered the year as head coach of the Cougars for a 21st consecutive season. 2023 was the tenth and final season for the Cougars as members of the WCC in softball as they joined the Big 12 Conference for the 2024 season. The Cougars entered 2023 having won their last 13 conference championships and having been picked as the favorites to win the 2023 WCC title.
