The 2014 FIA International Hill Climb Cup was the first edition of the FIA International Hill Climb Cup, after the merging of the FIA European Hill Climb Cup and the FIA International Hill Climb Challenge. [1] The season consisted of fourteen rounds, starting on 27 April with the Subida Internacional Ubrique Benaocaz in Spain, and ended on 5 October with the Bergrennen Mickhausen in Germany. [2]
In Category 1, Bulgaria's Nikolay Zlatkov was the inaugural champion, winning three events during the season. He won the championship by 35 points ahead of Italian driver Fulvio Giuliani, who also won three events. Third place in the championship went to Karl Schagerl of Austria, who won his home event of the Sankt Andrae. The remaining events were shared between Igor Drotár, Andreas Gabat, Raúl Borreguero, Tomasz Nagorski and Tiago Reis, while Fausto Bormolini won the last two events during the season, but was ineligible to score championship points. In Category 2, Václav Janík of the Czech Republic was crowned champion by 21 points ahead of Switzerland's Tiziano Riva with another Czech driver, Jiří Svoboda, edging out Simone Faggioli by half a point for third place in the final championship standings.

The Nürburgring is a 150,000 person capacity motorsports complex located in the town of Nürburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It features a Grand Prix race track built in 1984, and a much longer Nordschleife "North loop" track which was built in the 1920s around the village and medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel mountains. The north loop is 20.830 km (12.943 mi) long and has more than 300 metres of elevation change from its lowest to highest points. Jackie Stewart nicknamed the old track "The Green Hell".

Autodrom Most is a hard-surfaced 4.212 km (2.617 mi) long race track for motorsport outside of the city of Most in the northwest of the Czech Republic. The racing circuit was built between 1978 and 1983, but the Most district was known for organizing motorcycle and car races earlier. Autodrome is used for races of cars, trucks, motorcycles and free circuit rides, but also for test rides of developed cars, training of drivers of fire engines, ambulance and police cars, as well as training of drivers in crisis situations, etc.

The ADAC GT Masters is a grand tourer-based auto racing series founded by the international Stéphane Ratel Organisation (SRO) and supported by the German ADAC automotive club. Platinum Categorisation is a category within the FIA Drivers' Categorisation. The FIA Drivers' Categorisation is a system created by Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile that lists drivers on the basis of their achievements, performances and age. This categorization is used in sports car racing championships such as FIA World Endurance Championship, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, European Le Mans Series, etc. The previously separate FIA WEC and FIA GT3 lists were merged in 2015. The initial categorisation is based on the driver's age and his or her career record. Series that use FIA rankings must agree to submit the relevant data back to the FIA.

The ADAC Schauinsland Race was a motor sport event that took place mainly in the borough of Freiburg im Breisgau in south Germany, which took place between 1925 and 1984 on an old logging track, the present day L 124 (Schauinslandstraße), from Horben to the Schauinsland Pass. The route climbed through 780 metres of height over a course of twelve kilometres. Even today it is the longest and most winding mountain racecourse in Germany and the venue for several European Hill Climb Championships.
