The 2014 Mekong Club Championship was the inaugural season of the Mekong Club Championship. Four teams from the respective domestic league winners from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam competed. The inaugural championship was in Vietnam from 31 October 2014 and 2 November and played on a knockout basis starting from the semi-finals stage. [1] The championship is sponsored by Toyota.

Vietnamese National Football Super Cup, also called the Thaco National Football Super Cup due to sponsorship reasons, is Vietnamese football's annual match contested between the champions of the previous V.League 1 season and the holders of the Vietnamese Cup. If the V.League 1 champions also won the Vietnamese Cup, then the league runners-up provide the opposition. The fixture was first played in the 1998–99 season.

The 2019 AFF U-18 Youth Championship or AFF U18 Next Media Cup 2019 was the 17th edition of the AFF U-19 Youth Championship, organised by ASEAN Football Federation. It was hosted by Vietnam during August 2019. Twelve member associations of the ASEAN Football Federation took part in the tournament featuring two groups of six teams.
