The 2014 South American Para Games , officially known as the 1st Para-South American Games, was a multi-sport event held from 26 to 30 March 2014 in Santiago, Chile.
Eight nations competed in this edition of Para-South American Games. Numbers in parentheses indicate the number of athletes competing.

Argentina topped the medal table in the first edition of the Para-South American Games with 112 medals. The host nation, Chile, got 43 medals and finished in fifth place. [10]

Eva Ngui Nchama is a Paralympian athlete from Spain competing mainly in category T12 sprint events. She has competed at three Paralympic Games, 2004 Summer Paralympics, 2008 Summer Paralympics and 2012 Summer Paralympics, and earned a pair bronze medals, both coming at the 2008 Games
The XVI Bolivarian Games were a multi-sport event held in 2009 in Sucre, Bolivia. The competitions in Sucre took place from 15–26 November. A number of Bolivian cities hosted some of the sporting events, including Cochabamba, Santa Cruz and Tarija. Also, events were held outside of Bolivia, with Guayaquil, Lima, Quito and Salinas hosting a number of competitions. The Games were organized by the Bolivarian Sports Organization (ODEBO).
The 2019 Pan American Games, officially the XVIII Pan American Games and commonly known as the Lima 2019 Pan-Am Games or Lima 2019, were a multi-sport event governed by the Panam Sports Organization, were held in Lima, Peru from July 26 to August 11, 2019, with preliminary rounds in certain events having begun on July 24, 2019. These were the first Pan American Games to be held in Peru, and the seventh to be held in South America.
José María Pámpano Cillero is a Paralympic athlete from Spain competing mainly in T36 middle-distance events. He won a silver medal at the 2004 Summer Paralympics.
The 4th South American Under-23 Championships in Athletics were held in Medellín, Colombia, at the Estadio Alfonso Galvis Duque at the Unidad Deportiva Atanasio Girardot on March 20–23, 2010. The championships, organized by CONSUDATLE, were held as a part of the South American Games. A detailed report on the results was given. The most prominent result was achieved in the heat of the women's 100 metres by Ana Cláudia Lemos Silva. Her time of 11.17 equaled the South American and Brazilian record, and set a new championships and games record.

The South American Race Walking Championships is a biennial race walking competition organized by CONSUDATLE for athletes representing the countries of its member associations. Races for senior men and women, for junior and for youth athletes are featured. In addition, there are separate team competitions. The event was established in 1989 as South American Race Walking Cup, and was occurring annually at first. The 2001 event was held in conjunction with the Pan American Race Walking Cup. The name as well as the frequency of the competition were changed in 2004.

Jaume Llambi Riera is a wheelchair basketball player and table tennis player from Spain. A paraplegic as a result of a car accident when he was 8 years old, he went on to represent Spain at the 1992 Summer Paralympics in table tennis. He then switched sports to wheelchair basketball, making his national team debut in 1998. In 2012, he represented Spain in wheelchair basketball at the Paralympic Games in London where his team finished fifth.
Rafael Botello Jiménez is a Spanish wheelchair athlete specializing in long-distance events. He has represented Spain at the 2008 and the 2012 Summer Paralympics.
Álvaro González Alcaraz is a Spanish football player, who plays in goal for the Spain national 5-a-side football team. He has won a pair bronze medals at the 2004 Summer Paralympics and the 2012 Summer Paralympics.
Javier Hernández Aguiran is an armless Paralympic swimmer and sports journalist from Spain who represented the country at the 2012 Summer Paralympics, where he earned a Paralympic diploma with 33 years old. He started training at the age of 30.
Miguel Rodríguez Martinez is a Spanish table tennis player who competes in a wheelchair. He has been the Spanish national champion in the men's single championship in 2011, 2012 and 2012, and has been internationally ranked. He has represented Spain at the 2012 Summer Paralympics.
Aitor Oroza Flores is a Spanish Paralympic cyclist. He has represented Spain at the Paralympics in 2008 and 2012. His best result in the Paralympics was the seventh place, achieved in 2008. He has competed at several World Championships, winning three gold medals in the individual time trial and one more gold medal in the road race.
Luis Alonso Morán Servellón(born August 4, 1971 in Tegucigalpa) is a Honduran judoka, who competed in the men's heavyweight category. He picked up a silver medal in the over+100 kg division at the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games in Cartagena, Colombia, and also represented his nation Honduras at the 2004 Summer Olympics.

Blind skier Jon Santacana and guide skier Miguel Galindo Garces competed at the Paralympics before in 2002, 2006, 2010 and the 2014. Astrid Fina Paredes went to the 2014 Winter Paralympics. Snowboarder Víctor González will be going to his first Paralympic Games.
The 2022 South American Youth Games, officially the III South American Youth Games, was an international multi-sport event held in Rosario, Argentina, from April 28 to May 8. It was the first time for the event to be held in Argentina.
