The 2014 Rostelecom Cup was the fourth event of six in the 2014–15 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a senior-level international invitational competition series. It was held at the Luzhniki Small Sports Arena in Moscow on November 14–16. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Skaters earned points toward qualifying for the 2014–15 Grand Prix Final.
The Luzhniki Small Sports Arena is an 8,700-seat indoor arena that is part of the Luzhniki Sports Complex in Moscow, Russia. The Arena was built in 1956 in the USSR. It hosted volleyball competitions during the 1980 Summer Olympics.
Moscow is the capital and most populous city of Russia, with 13.2 million residents within the city limits, 17 million within the urban area and 20 million within the metropolitan area. Moscow is one of Russia's federal cities.
Single skating is a discipline of figure skating in which male and female skaters compete individually. Men's singles and women's singles, along with the other figure skating disciples, pair skating, ice dance, and synchronized skating, are governed by the International Skating Union (ISU).
The entries were as follows:
Stefania Berton is an Italian pair skater. With former partner Ondřej Hotárek, she is the 2013 European bronze medalist, the 2013 Skate Canada International champion, and a three-time Italian national champion. Berton/Hotárek are the first Italian pair skaters to win European and Grand Prix medals.
Ruben Blommaert is a German pair skater. With Annika Hocke, he has won silver medals at the 2017 CS Minsk-Arena Ice Star and 2017 International Cup of Nice.
Vanessa Lam is an American figure skater. She won two gold medals on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series and competed at the 2012 World Junior Championships.
