Miloš Zeman is a Czech politician serving as the third and current President of the Czech Republic since 8 March 2013. He previously served as Prime Minister of the Czech Republic from 1998 to 2002. As Leader of the Czech Social Democratic Party during the 1990s, he transformed his party into one of the country's major political forces. Zeman was Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of the Czech parliament, from 1996 until he became Prime Minister two years later in 1998.

Bohuslav Sobotka former Prime Minister of the Czech Republic

Bohuslav Sobotka is a Czech politician who served as the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic from January 2014 to December 2017 and Leader of the Czech Social Democratic Party (ČSSD) from 2010 until his resignation in June 2017. He was Member of the Chamber of Deputies (MP) from 1996 to 2018. Sobotka also served as Finance Minister from 2002 to 2006.

It is responsible for collecting, analyzing, reporting and disseminating intelligence on threats to Czech Republic's national security, and conducting operations, covert and overt, both domestically and abroad. It also reports to and advises the Government of the Czech Republic on national security issues and situations that threaten the security of the nation.

Early legislative elections were held in the Czech Republic on 25 and 26 October 2013, seven months before the constitutional expiry of the elected parliament's four year legislative term.

Jiří Dienstbier Jr. is a Czech politician and lawyer, who has been the Senator for Kladno since 2011, representing the Social Democratic Party (ČSSD). He previously served as Minister for Human Rights, Equal Opportunities and Legislation in Bohuslav Sobotka's cabinet, and at various points he has been Deputy Leader of ČSSD, a member of the Chamber of Deputies, and shadow minister of Justice. He was also the ČSSD candidate for the first direct presidential elections in the Czech Republic in 2013.

The 2017 Czech legislative election was held in the Czech Republic on 20 and 21 October 2017. All 200 members of the Chamber of Deputies were elected and the leader of the resultant government – Andrej Babiš of ANO 2011, became the Prime Minister.

ANO 2011 is a centrist and populist political party in the Czech Republic founded by Andrej Babiš, the second-richest person in the Czech Republic, owner of the Agrofert conglomerate, and Mafra media group. It is based on the former movement Action of Dissatisfied Citizens. "Ano" means "yes" in Czech.

Bohuslav Sobotkas Cabinet

Bohuslav Sobotka's Cabinet was the governing body of the Czech Republic from 2014 to 2017. Bohuslav Sobotka was designated Prime Minister by President Miloš Zeman on January 17, 2014. The cabinet was sworn in on January 29, 2014. It was replaced by Andrej Babiš' Cabinet in December 2017.

Helena Válková is a Czech politician, university professor, and lawyer, specialising in criminal law and criminology. From January 2014 until March 2015 she was the Czech Minister of Justice in the government of Bohuslav Sobotka. She was elected to the Chamber of Deputies for ANO 2011, though she is now non-partisan. On 10 February 2015, Andrej Babiš, the leader of ANO 2011, announced that Válková will be replaced in the function by the lawyer Robert Pelikán. Válková's tenure ended on 1 March.
