The 2014–15 Académica da Praia season were in the island division of football (soccer). The club finished 5th after AD Bairro and behind Celtic Praia with 27 points and 16 goals. [1]
Associação Desportiva do Bairro Craveiro Lopes is a multisport club that had played in the Santiago Island South Zone League in Cape Verde. Its current president Carlos Sena Teixeira and its manager is Daniel Cardoso who came in February 2017. Its nickname is canarinha which is Portuguese for the little canary.

Clube Desportivo Travadores is a football club in the Santiago South Premier Division in Cape Verde and are one of the unrelegated clubs of the Premier Division. Their first match was a draw with Os Garridos as no goals were scored, their first win was on December 12 against CD Travadores with 3-1. Académica Praia was tied no goals in their second draw with Bairro Craveiro Lopes a week later. Their second win was on January 9 against Celtic. Académica lost to Desportivo Praia on week 5. The next two matches ended in victory against Vitória and Varanda followed by two losses to Sporting Praia and Boavista. Two wins followed for two weeks on February 28, the start of round 2 followed by two additional losses on March 14. The club's third and final draw took place on March 28 with Desportivo and the only ended with a goal. In the final month of the season, two final wins of the season followed on April 3 and 16 and two final losses of the season followed on 19 and 16 of the same month to Sporting and Boavista. [1]

Qualified as runner-up as Boavista Praia won the cup title, Académica da Praia participated in the match on November 8 and lost the title to Boavista Praia.

Sporting Clube da Praia, short form: Sporting Praia is a professional football club that plays in the Santiago South Premier Division in Cape Verde. It is based in the capital city of Praia in the island of Santiago, one of the unrelegated clubs in the south of the island along with three of the city's four historically mightiest clubs including Académica, Boavista and CD Travadores. Along with Académcia, Boavista, Desportivo, Travadores and Vitória, it is one of several teams that share the same ground, Estádio da Várzea, which has a capacity of 8,000. Sporting has won six championships since independence and a few before independence. The first title was won in the summer of 1962 before independence. Sporting recently won the 2017 national title. Its current president is Carlos Daniel Caetano and its manager is Lito, who once played for Portuguese clubs as footballer.
Boavista Futebol Clube is a football club that had played in the Premier division and plays in the Santiago Island South Zone League in Cape Verde. It is based in the city of Praia in the island of Santiago. The team has only reached a few of these games before and after independence. Its current president is Luis Manuel Semedo who once coached Boa Vista's Académica Operária. and its manager is Nelito Antunes.

The tournament was organized by the Santiago South Regional Football Association. All the matches were played at Estádio da Várzea. Sporting Praia won their next title in three years which was their 10th title and participated in the 2017 Cape Verdean Football Championships and played in Group C that includes Sporting Brava, Sporting Praia had 55 points and made it a club record, overall of any regional tier 2 championship competitions, it was third behind of the clubs of the island's North Zone, GD Varandinha with 63 and Scorpion Vermelho with 61. Also Sporting Praia qualified in the 2017 Santiago South Super Cup and faced Os Garridos, runner up in the regional cup competitions as Sporting was also cup winner, Sporting would win that title.
