The 2014–15 CS Mindelense season were in the island and top division of Cape Verdean football. The club won the island's 47th title, a record of all the island titles won by any club in Cape Verde. As they were the 2014 national league winners, they would participate and claim the nation's 10th title.
Football is the most popular sport in Cape Verde. The league is divided into eleven divisions, of which seven of them are singles and two islands, Santiago and Santo Antão has two zones since 2000. The football association is a federation which is known as the Cape Verdean Football Federation, it became affiliated with CAF in 1986 and later with FIFA in 2001.
The club scored a total of 54 goals. Of which 36 was scored in the São Vicente League and in the national championships, 14 in the regular season and 4 in the playoffs. Their total points was 38 for the island and 15 in the national championships.
The 2014-15 season would be at an unbeatable first place for the entire season and headed to win a record breaking 47th title in the island. The club scored 36 goals of which 22 (61.11%) were scored at home and 14 (38.889%) were scored away.
The club had their five-week winning streak and winning against Batuque, Derby, Salamansa, Ribeira Bote and Académica Mindelo, their first tie was in week 6 to Amarante by 2, next, they had another five week winning streak and defeated Falcões, Batuque, [1] Derby, Salamansa, Ribeira Derby and Académica. Their week 13 match against Amarante ended in a 1-point tie, the final week saw Mindelense defeated Falcões by 3. The club didn't lose a single match, Mindelense won all away games, the home-away wins were a 50/50 share. In a week 11 match on April 5, Mindelense score 9-0 over Ribeira Bote, the biggest win of the season.

The club won their third and recent São Vicente Cup title, their next in two years after beating Amarante. Mindelense already qualified as regional champion, second placed cup club Amarante also qualified .
Grêmio Desportivo Amarante or Amarantes is a football club that had played in the Premier division and plays in the São Vicente Island League in Cape Verde. It is based in the city of Mindelo in the island of São Vicente.
The regional super cup took place on November 7, 2015. [2] As Mindelense were regional champions and cup winners, the club as regional champion competed against Amarante, a second place club. The club won their third São Vicente Super Cup title, their next in six years.
Even though as they were the 2014 national winners, as they won an island title, the club achieved entry and would go ahead to claim the country's 11th title.
Again, the club would play its matches in Group B. [3] All matches ended in victory. The final match was played against Boavista from Praia and headed to the playoff stage.
Boavista Futebol Clube is a football club that had played in the Premier division and plays in the Santiago Island South Zone League in Cape Verde. It is based in the city of Praia in the island of Santiago. The team has only reached a few of these games before and after independence. Its current president is Luis Manuel Semedo who once coached Boa Vista's Académica Operária. and its manager is Nelito Antunes.
Mindelense did not participated in the CAF Champions League in 2016.

The club advanced into the playoffs, in the semis, Mindelense challenged Paulense from the Santo Antão Island League North Zone and lost the match 0-1, they won the second match 2-0, their final challenge was against the city's rival FC Derby, the next city rivalry in years, all the two matches ended with a single goal each, they would win the penalty shootout by four points and claimed the 11th national title. Clube Sportivo Mindelense (Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK: KS Mindelensi, São Vicente Crioulo: KS Mindelense is a football club that plays in the Premier division of the Interisland League in Cape Verde. It is based in the city of Mindelo in the island of São Vicente. Mindelense is the oldest club in Cape Verde. It is the team won the most cups before and after independence especially in the 1950s and the 1970s with nine titles before independence and eleven after independence. Their first participation in the national division before independence was unofficially in 1938 and officially in 1954, Mindelense first appeared after independence in 1980. Since 30 April 2017, they are one of three unrelegated clubs in the island along with Batuque and Derby. Its current chairman is Daniel de Jesus. The club's nickname is Leões Encarnados or the Incarnated Lions. A nickname that is used less often is the Red Devils or the Diablos Vermelhos.
Futebol Clube Derby is a football club that had played in the Premier division and the São Vicente Island League in Cape Verde and is Cape Verde's only affiliate of FC Porto and the oldest affiliate in the whole of Africa. It is based in the city of Mindelo on the island of São Vicente. It is the second team of the regional league who won the most titles after independence especially in the 1960s and the 1970s. Its current president is Carlos Alberto Lopes and its coach is Yoya who became in May 2017. The club name is the Dragons or Dragões, the same as Porto's slogan. Since 30 April 2017, they are one of three unrelegated clubs in the island along with Batuque and Mindelense.
Associação Académica do Mindelo is a football club that had played in the Premier division and the São Vicente Island League in Cape Verde. It is based in the city of Mindelo on the island of São Vicente and plays in a stadium with a capacity of 5,000. The club is an affiliate of the Portuguese club Académica de Coimbra. It is one of the first teams ever to win a provincial title before independence, in 1953, a year later. There was no further competition until 1956. Académica won their first title since independence in 1989. Other titles includes four for the island including their recent 2006/07 season win and two opening tournaments along with their recent win.

The São Vicente Island or Regional Premier Division is a regional championship played in São Vicente Island, Cape Verde. The championship is organized by the São Vicente Regional Football Association. The winner of the championship plays in Cape Verdean football Championships of each season. In 1989, 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2017, a second place club participated in the national championships, Académica do Mindelo in 1989, Mindelense in 2014 and FC Derby in 2015 and in 2016 and will be for 2017. The 7th place club plays with a Second Division runner-up in a division decisional match to decide on promoting or remain in the Second Division. The last placed club relegated into the São Vicente Second Division. Up to around 2010, only a club was relegated into that division.
Batuque Futebol Clube is a football club that plays in the São Vicente Island League in Cape Verde. It is based in the city of Mindelo on the island of São Vicente. Its current president is Jota who became first president in around the mid 2000s. Its nickname is Panteras (Panthers) which is also Portugal's Boavista F.C. nickname, the club is not an affilaite to that club. Since 30 April 2017, they are one of three unrelegated clubs in the island along with Derby and Mindelense.

The super cup competition is organized by the São Vicente Regional Football Association. Its current champions is FC Derby who won their second title The regional champion competes with the cup champion. The 2015 edition was held, as Mindelense won both the regional and cup titles, the regional winner competed with a runner up in the regional cup.

The competition is organized by the São Vicente Regional Football Association. Until 2009, it featured 9 rounds and the club met once. When the second division was introduced to the São Vicente Island League in 2009, the Opening Tournament became the Association Cup and featured two divisions. It currently consists of seven rounds, a meeting with another club once. The winner with the most points is the winner.
