The 2014 Cape Verdean Super Cup was an annual and a single knockout match featuring the winner of the 2013 championship CS Mindelense and instead of a cup winner as no cup competition was held in 2013, a super cup winner of 2013, Sporting Praia. [1] The Super Cup featured the national rivalry between Mindelense and Sporting.
The 2013 Cape Verdean Football Championship season was the 34th of the competition of the first-tier football in Cape Verde. Its started on 11 May and finished on 13 July, slightly earlier than last year. The tournament was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. CS Mindelense won the ninth title. They did not participate in the 2014 CAF Champions League. In 2014, Mindelense would become the second and most recent club to win both the cup and the super cup title in the same season.
Clube Sportivo Mindelense (Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK: KS Mindelensi, São Vicente Crioulo: KS Mindelense is a football club that plays in the Premier division of the Interisland League in Cape Verde. It is based in the city of Mindelo in the island of São Vicente. Mindelense is the oldest club in Cape Verde. It is the team won the most cups before and after independence especially in the 1950s and the 1970s with nine titles before independence and eleven after independence. Their first participation in the national division before independence was unofficially in 1938 and officially in 1954, Mindelense first appeared after independence in 1980. Since 30 April 2017, they are one of three unrelegated clubs in the island along with Batuque and Derby. Its current chairman is Daniel de Jesus. The club's nickname is Leões Encarnados or the Incarnated Lions. A nickname that is used less often is the Red Devils or the Diablos Vermelhos.
Sporting Clube da Praia, short form: Sporting Praia is a professional football club that plays in the Santiago South Premier Division in Cape Verde. It is based in the capital city of Praia in the island of Santiago, one of the unrelegated clubs in the south of the island along with three of the city's four historically mightiest clubs including Académica, Boavista and CD Travadores. Along with Académcia, Boavista, Desportivo, Travadores and Vitória, it is one of several teams that share the same ground, Estádio da Várzea, which has a capacity of 8,000. Sporting has won six championships since independence and a few before independence. The first title was won in the summer of 1962 before independence. Sporting recently won the 2017 national title. Its current president is Carlos Daniel Caetano and its manager is Lito, who once played for Portuguese clubs as footballer.

Fogo is an island in the Sotavento group of Cape Verde. Its population is 35,837 (2015), with an area of 476 km². It reaches the highest altitude of all the islands in Cape Verde, rising to 2,829 metres above sea level at the summit of its active volcano, Pico do Fogo.
São Filipe is a city on the west coast of the island of Fogo, Cape Verde. It is the capital of the island, and the seat of the São Filipe Municipality. The island's airport, São Filipe Airport, is located on the southeastern edge of the town and the island's port is 4 km north of the center at Vale de Cavaleiros. The town's elevation is 20 meters.
Estádio 5 de Julho is a multi-purpose stadium in São Filipe, Cape Verde just east of the city center known as Bila Baxo and is near Alto da Aguadinha. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 1,000 people. The stadium is named with the date of Cape Verdean independence.

The Radiotelevisão Caboverdiana is Cape Verde's first radio and television station broadcasting local programs from Cape Verde, Portugal and Brazil as well as the rest of the world especially France. It is a publicly owned company and enterprise and is located in the Capeverdean capital city of Praia, in the southern part in the middle of Achada Santo António RTC also has a few buildings, it also has offices in São Vicente, Sal, São Filipe on Fogo Island and Assomada in Santa Catarina. The building size is very small, only like local affiliates in North America as well as Latin America, Australia and Europe.
