The 2015 2000 Guineas Stakes was the 207th running of the 2000 Guineas Stakes horse race. It was run over one mile at Newmarket Racecourse on 2 May 2015. [1] With the favourite going off at 4/1, this was the most open renewal since 2007 where Adagio headed the field at the same price. [2] Most of the winter ante-post market leaders met the starter at Newmarket - notable absentees being Faydhan, who disappointed in the Free Handicap, and Highland Reel who was diverted to France. [3]

Gleneagles (horse) Irish-bred Thoroughbred racehorse

Gleneagles is an Irish Thoroughbred racehorse. After finishing fourth on his debut, he finished first in his remaining five races as a two-year-old in 2014 and was named Cartier Champion Two-year-old Colt. He won the Tyros Stakes, Futurity Stakes and National Stakes in Ireland before being disqualified after crossing the line in first place in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère in France. On his three-year-old debut he won the 2000 Guineas and followed up in the Irish 2,000 Guineas three weeks later. In June he added a win in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.

2015 Epsom Derby

The 2015 Epsom Derby was the 236th annual running of the Derby horse race and took place at Epsom Downs Racecourse on 6 June 2015. The race was won by the favourite, Golden Horn, a British-bred bay colt, owned by Anthony Oppenheimer, trained in Newmarket, Suffolk by John Gosden and ridden by Frankie Dettori. The colt's win was the first for his owner, the second for Dettori and the second for Gosden.
