It first began competing there before moving to the TAAC, and the CAA. Beginning July 1, 2013, Georgia State returned to the Sun Belt Conference for all sports. The Panthers play their home games at Georgia State's Panthersville sports complex in the GSU Baseball Complex.

The Georgia State Panthers men's soccer team represents Georgia State University (GSU) in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. As of the 2022 season, the Panthers play in their full-time home of the Sun Belt Conference (SBC), which reinstated the sport after a one-season hiatus. During the SBC's men's soccer hiatus, GSU had been a single-sport member of the Mid-American Conference. However, following a major conference realignment in 2021 and 2022 brought several new men's soccer schools to the SBC, that league announced it would reinstate men's soccer no later than 2023, eventually moving that date forward to 2022.

The Panthers played their home games at the GSU Baseball Complex. 2014 represents the first year of GSU playing back in the Sun Belt Conference. The Panthers finished the season with a 25-31, going 11-19 in the Sun Belt Conference, going 19-14 at home vs 6-17 away. The Panthers finished 9th in the Sun Belt.

Ronald Jordan Hunter is an American professional basketball player for the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA G League. Hunter played college basketball for the Georgia State Panthers under the direction of his father and Georgia State head coach, Ron Hunter. There, he was twice named Sun Belt Player of the Year as well as the Sun Belt Conference Male Athlete of the Year. He holds the school record for most career points with a total of 1,819 after just three seasons of play.

The 2014–15 Georgia State Panthers men's basketball team represented Georgia State University during 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team's head coach was Ron Hunter serving his fourth season at GSU. The Panthers played their home games at the GSU Sports Arena competing as members of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 25–10, 15–5 in Sun Belt play to win the Sun Belt regular season championship. They defeated Louisiana–Lafayette and Georgia Southern to become champions of the Sun Belt tournament. They received an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they defeated Baylor in the second round before losing in the third round to Xavier.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Georgia Southern–Georgia State rivalry</span>

The Georgia Southern–Georgia State rivalry, also known as Modern Day Hate, is a college athletics rivalry between the Georgia Southern Eagles and Georgia State Panthers. Both schools are members of the Sun Belt Conference (SBC). For the 2021–22 school year, the men's soccer rivalry temporarily moved to the Mid-American Conference, with both schools joining that league for men's soccer after the SBC disbanded its men's soccer league. However, SBC expansion in 2022 and the addition of three "Power Five" programs led to the reinstatement of SBC men's soccer effective in 2022–23. While the teams have only met nine times in football, the rivalry dates back to the 1970s in basketball and other sports.

The 2016 Georgia State Panthers football team represented Georgia State University (GSU) in the 2016 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Panthers were led by fourth-year head coach Trent Miles for the first 10 games of the year until he was fired on November 12, 2016 after a 2–8 record. They were led by interim head coach Tim Lappano for the remainder of the season. They played their home games at the Georgia Dome. The 2016 season was the Panthers' fourth in the Sun Belt Conference and seventh since starting football. This was also the Panthers final season in the Georgia Dome, as the stadium was demolished on November 20, 2017 following the opening of Mercedes-Benz Stadium on August 26 of the same year.

The team's head coach was Ron Hunter, who coached his eighth and final season at Georgia State. The Panthers play their home games at the GSU Sports Arena in Atlanta, Georgia as a member of the Sun Belt Conference. Finishing with a 13–5 conference record, GSU won its third Sun Belt regular season championship in the last six years. The Panthers defeated Texas State, and UT Arlington to become champions of the Sun Belt tournament. As a result, they received the Sun Belt's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they lost to Houston in the first round.
