The Big South Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with the NCAA's Division I. Originally a non-football conference, the Big South began sponsoring football in 2002 as part of the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), and began operating the Big South–OVC Football Association in partnership with the Ohio Valley Conference in 2023. The Big South, founded in 1983, is firmly rooted in the South Atlantic region of the United States, with full member institutions located in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Associate members are located in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and South Carolina.

The playing surface is named Claude Crocker Field. The facility features a multi-level press box, a spacious field house and concession stands for home and visiting fans.
Timothy Carter Corbin is the head baseball coach of the Vanderbilt Commodores baseball team. Since becoming coach at Vanderbilt in 2003, Corbin has transformed the Commodores from a perennial Southeastern Conference doormat to an elite program. When he arrived in 2003, Vanderbilt had only had six winning seasons in SEC play since baseball became a scholarship sport in 1968, and had only been to three NCAA tournaments in school history. Since then, they have been to all but one NCAA tournament since 2004.

The PC Athletic Department fields a total of 19 varsity teams, eight men's and 11 women's sports. The school colors are garnet and blue, and the mascot is Scotty the Scotsman, a medieval Scottish warrior. The team name comes from the socks worn by the football team in the early days of the twentieth century.

Presbyterian's first football team was fielded in 1913. The team plays its home games at the 6,500 seat Bailey Memorial Stadium in Clinton, South Carolina. The Blue Hose were coached by Kevin Kelley, who was hired to lead the program on May 6, 2021, but who left at the end of the season. The current coach is Steve Englehart. The Blue Hose began a transition to non-scholarship football in 2017 and left Big South football after the 2019 season, while otherwise remaining a full Big South member. The Blue Hose football program played the 2020–21 season as an independent and joined the Pioneer League in July 2021 upon completion of its transition.
The Presbyterian College Baseball Complex is a baseball venue on the campus of Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina, USA. It is home to the Presbyterian College Blue Hose of the Division I Big South Conference. Also known as the Blue Hose Baseball Complex and The Plex, the field is located on East Maple Street on the college's campus. The facility was built in the late 1980s.

Led by head coach Lonnie McMillian, the team compiled a 6–3 record and won the SIAA championship. Verne Church and Lloyd Evans were the team captains.

The Blue Hose, led by second-year head coach Dustin Kerns, played their home games at the Templeton Physical Education Center in Clinton, South Carolina as members of the Big South Conference. They finished the season 20–16, 9–7 in Big South play to finish in a four-way tie for fifth place. They defeated UNC Asheville in the first round of the Big South tournament before losing in the quarterfinals to Radford. They were invited to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament, their first ever Division I post season tournament, where they defeated Seattle and Robert Morris to advance to the quarterfinals where they lost to Marshall.
Walter A. Johnson was an American football and basketball coach and college athletics administrator. He coached both sports at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina. As the athletic director at Presbyterian, he is loosely credited with giving the school's sports teams their unique nickname, the Blue Hose.

The 1946 Presbyterian Blue Hose football team was an American football team that represented Presbyterian College as a member of the South Carolina Little Four during the 1946 college football season. In their sixth season under head coach Lonnie McMillian, the Blue Hose compiled a 7–2 record, won the Little Four championship, and outscored opponents by a total of 154 to 99. After losing the first two games of the season, Presbyterian won seven consecutive games to close the season.
