The 2015 Pro Mazda Championship Winterfest was the second winter championship promoted by the series, the first being in 2014. It served as a prelude to the 2015 Pro Mazda Championship season. It consisted of five races held during two race meets, alongside the 2015 U.S. F2000 Winterfest. The previous edition included only four races, with two at each track.

The 2015 U.S. F2000 Cooper Tires Winterfest was the fifth year of the winter racing series promoted by the U.S. F2000 National Championship. It consisted of five races held during two race meets during February 2015 and served as preparation for the 2015 U.S. F2000 National Championship.
Team Pelfrey's Jack Aitken and Andretti Autosport driver Weiron Tan were the main title protagonists, sharing all five victories between them. Tan amassed the most points with race results – two wins and three second places – but a five-point penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct on the podium at NOLA Motorsports Park allowed Aitken to take the championship title by one point ahead of Tan. Third place went to Tan's team-mate Dalton Kellett, who took his only podium finish in the final race at Barber Motorsports Park, which awarded double points after one of the track's scheduled three races was canceled due to bad weather.
Andretti Autosport is an auto racing team that competes in the IndyCar Series, Indy Lights, the FIA Formula E Championship and the Americas Rallycross Championship. It is headed and owned up by former CART series champion Michael Andretti.
Weiron Tan is a Malaysian race car driver.
NOLA Motorsports Park is a road race track in Avondale, Louisiana, approximately twenty minutes from downtown New Orleans. The kart circuit and North Track circuits opened in Q4 2011.

The Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires is a racecar driver development program, providing a scholarship-funded path to reach the IndyCar Series. and Indianapolis 500. Sanctioned by IndyCar, the Road to Indy is owned and managed by Andersen Promotions. On December 9, 2010 it was announced that Mazda would become the title sponsor of the program and provide scholarships for series champions to advance to the next rung of the ladder with all three series running on Cooper Tires.

Barber Motorsports Park is an 880-acre multi-purpose racing facility located in Birmingham, Alabama. It was built by Alabama native George W. Barber, and includes the 230,000-square-foot Barber Vintage Motorsport Museum. It has been the site of the IndyCar Series' Grand Prix of Alabama since 2010. The Annual Barber Vintage Festival has taken place at the park each October since 2005. Barber is also the home of the Porsche Track Experience.

The Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires, formerly known as the Pro Mazda Championship, debuted as a new series in 2013, replacing the Star Mazda Championship which ceased operation in 2012 after 22 years. The series is sanctioned by IndyCar and owned and operated by Andersen Promotions. It is the second official step on the Road to Indy ladder system bridging the gap between the Cooper Tires U.S. F2000 Championship and Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires. The series' champion is awarded a scholarship package to advance to Indy Lights competition the following year. It competes on all open-wheel disciplines: road courses, street courses, and ovals. The series' primary sponsor is Cooper Tires.

Matthew Chase Brabham is an American/Australian racing driver, best known for being the 2013 champion of the Pro Mazda Championship. He currently competes full-time in the Stadium Super Trucks, driving the No. 83 truck. Brabham is a third-generation racing driver; he is the son of Geoff Brabham and the grandson of three time Formula One World Champion Sir Jack Brabham.

Owned by Ricardo Juncos who formed the team in 1997, the team initially was based in Argentina before limited racing opportunities in that country led to the team moving to the United States.
