The 2015 Team Speedway Junior World Championship was the 11th FIM Team Under-21 World Championship season. The final took place on 31 October, 2015 at the Olympic Park Speedway in Mildura, Australia, the first time it was held outside of Europe. [1] [2]

Poland won their 8th Team Under-21 World Championship. The Poles dominated the Final, winning 15 of the 20 heats. [3]

Results

In the 2015 Final the host team was Australia. The other three finalists were determined in two Semi-Finals held on 22 August. First and second places from Semi-final 1 held in Güstrow, Germany would go through to the final. The winner of Semi-final 2 held on the same day in Opole, Poland would earn the last place in the Final.

Denmark won the first Semi-final from the host nation Germany, Great Britain and Finland. Defending Under-21 World Champions Poland were easy winners of the second Semi-final from the Czech Republic, Russia and Sweden.

Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines which use only one gear and have no brakes; racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock. Competitors use this surface to slide their machines sideways, powersliding or broadsiding into the bends. Philip John Crump in Mildura, Victoria is a retired Australian Motorcycle speedway rider who attained 3rd place in the 1976 World Championship. He also won the 1976 Speedway World Team Cup with Australia in the same year.

Chris Holder Australian speedway rider (born 1987)

Christopher Robert Holder is an Australian speedway rider currently riding for Lejonen in the Swedish Elitserien and for Apator Toruń in the Polish Speedway Ekstraliga. He became the Australian Individual Speedway Champion in 2008 and followed up with wins in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014 as well as winning the Australian Under-21 Championship in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. He finished as runner-up in the Under-21 World Championship in 2007 and 2008. He is 2012 World Speedway Champion. His brother, James, also rode in the UK with the Plymouth Devils in the Premier League and younger brother Jack Holder also rides for the Somerset Rebels in the SGB Premiership.

Ryan Sullivan Australian speedway rider

Ryan Geoffrey Sullivan is a retired Australian international Motorcycle speedway rider who has won the Australian senior, Under-21, and Under-16 championships during his career. Sullivan achieved a career best third in the 2002 Speedway Grand Prix, winning two of the ten Grand Prix run during the year.

Shane Andrew Parker is a former Australian motorcycle speedway rider and a four time South Australian Champion. Currently he is riding in the Australian season at his home track of Gillman Speedway in Adelaide, and finished second in the 2012/13 South Australian Championship behind reigning champion and Speedway Grand Prix rider, Troy Batchelor. Shane Parker holds one of the unluckiest records in Australian speedway, having been the runner-up in the South Australian title on seven occasions during his career.

The 2008 FIM Nordicbet Speedway World Cup (SWC) is the 8th FIM Speedway World Cup season. The Final took place on July 19 2008 in Vojens, Denmark. The tournament was won by host team Denmark and they beat defending champion Poland, Sweden and Australia in the Final.

Todd Wiltshire is a retired Australian motorcycle speedway rider who competed at the highest level of the sport, finishing a career best third in the 1990 Individual Speedway World Championship at the Odsal Stadium in Bradford, England. He is also a two time Australian Champion, winning in 1999 and 2001.

The 2009 Team Speedway Junior World Championship was the fifth annual FIM Team Under-21 World Championship competition since its introduction in 2005. The final took place on September 5, 2009, in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland. It was the second final held in Poland, but the first in Gorzów; in 2006, the final took place in Rybnik, where Poland beat Sweden, Denmark and Germany.

Darcy Ward

Darcy Stephen Ward is an Australian former motorcycle speedway rider who won the 2009, 2010 and 2011 Australian Under-21 Championships as well as the 2009 and 2010 World Under-21 Championships. His career was ended by spinal injuries sustained in a crash in 2015.

Australia national under-21 speedway team

The Australia national under-21 speedway team is the national under-21 motorcycle speedway team of Australia and is controlled by the Motorcycling Australia. Like the senior Australian team, the Under-21s are managed by former rider Mark Lemon.

Justin Maxwell Sedgmen is an Australian motorcycle speedway rider. He is the son of former Australian rider Gavin Sedgmen and the grandson of Phil Sedgmen.

Gillman Speedway Motorcycle speedway in Gillman, Australia

Gillman Speedway is a purpose built, 300 metres long motorcycle speedway located in the Adelaide suburb of Gillman in South Australia. The track opened in 1998 and runs approximately 13 meetings per season from October to March/April.

Max Fricke is an Australian speedway rider who won the Australian Under-21 Championship in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017, and the Australian Solo Championship in 2019.

Sidewinders Speedway Motorcycle speedway in Wingfield, Australia

The Sidewinders Speedway is a junior Motorcycle speedway that was opened in 1978 in the semi-industrial Adelaide suburb of Wingfield in South Australia. The Sidewinders U/16 Speedway Club Inc. was founded two years earlier in 1976 by Graham Baker and Roy Bitmead, with help from Rowley Park Speedway riders Robin and Kym Amundson, and their father Bill. As it was then, Sidewinders goal is to promote and develop speedway through its junior ranks with riders aged 4–15, something that had rarely been done in Australia to that point. Once a rider turns 16 he or she then move into the senior ranks.

The Speedway of Nations is an annual speedway event held each year in different countries. The first edition of the competition in the current format took place in 2018, replacing the Speedway World Cup on the international calendar. It was the first time an official FIM international pairs competition was staged since the World Pairs Championship ceased in 1993. Russia are the current champions, having won the tournament in 2018, 2019 and 2020. The 2020 Speedway of Nations only had one completed round, after the first one that was due to be raced was postponed.

Jordan Stewart is an Australian speedway rider, born 13 November 1998, Mildura, Australia. He currently rides for the Redcar Bears in the SGB Championship having joined them in 2018 and has signed to race for Swindon Robins in the SGB Premiership in 2020. In 2017 he won the Victorian State Under 21 Speedway Championship qualifying for the Australian Solo Championship in which he finished with 15 points after completion of the 4 rounds. In November 2018 he won the Jason Lyons Trophy at Mildura’s Olympic Park Speedway. In December 2019 Jordan signed for his first SGB Premiership team Swindon Robins. Jordan gained his first major trophy win with Redcar Bears when they lifted the Championship Knock-Out Cup in 2019.

The 2017 Team Speedway Junior World Championship was the 13th FIM Team Under-21 World Championship season. The final took place on 2 September, 2017 in Rybnik, Poland.
