The 2016 Auburn Tigers softball team was an American softball team that represented Auburn University for the 2016 NCAA softball season. The Auburn Tigers played their home games at Jane B. Moore Field. [2]
In 2015, the Auburn Tigers softball team went 56-11 during Clint Myers second season, and won its first SEC softball tournament on May 9, 2015, at Tiger Park in Baton Rouge, LA, by defeating #11 Tennessee in extra innings. Auburn garnered a #4 seed in the 2015 NCAA Division I softball tournament, and hosted a regional and super regional at Jane B. Moore Field in Auburn, AL. Auburn won both the regional and super regional and advanced to their first 2015 Women's College World Series at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, OK. They made it to the Finals of the tournament, where they lost to eventual champion Florida by two runs.
In the 2016 preseason fall exhibition games the Tigers were 8-0, only surrendering 3 runs. [3]
In December 2015, Jane B. Moore Field began an 821-seat expansion along with more rest rooms, and will reconfigure the front of the stadium to add a grassy area for fans and kids before the first game. [4]
The Tigers 2016 regular season began on February 11 at home against Appalachian State. SEC Play began on March 12, when the Tigers hosted the #1 Florida Gators.
Auburn finished the regular season in a tie for 3rd place within the conference, and received the 4th seed in the 2016 SEC softball tournament. Beating #5 Alabama and #1 Florida, they made it to their second SEC Championship Final in a row on May 14, 2016, held at Nusz Park in Starkville, MS, and defeated #14 LSU 7-1 to collect back-to-back SEC Championships in Softball. Auburn garnered a #4 seed for the second year in a row in the 2016 NCAA Division I softball tournament, and hosted a regional and super regional at Jane B. Moore Field in Auburn, AL. Auburn won both the regional and super regional and advanced to the second NCAA Women's College World Series at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, OK, in as many years. [6]

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) is an American college athletic conference whose member institutions are located primarily in the South Central and Southeastern United States. Its 16 members include the flagship public universities of 12 states, three additional public land-grant universities, and one private research university. The conference is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. The SEC participates in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I in sports competitions. In football, it is part of the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), formerly known as Division I-A.
The Auburn Tigers are the athletic teams representing Auburn University, a public four-year university located in Auburn, Alabama, United States. The Auburn Tigers compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
The Auburn Tigers football program represents Auburn University in the sport of American college football. Auburn competes in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
The Auburn–Georgia football rivalry is a college football rivalry game between the Auburn Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs. The two teams first played each other in 1892, and the rivalry has been renewed annually since 1944 for a total of 129 games as of 2024. Because it is the oldest rivalry still contested between teams in the Deep South, the series is referred to by both schools as the "Deep South's Oldest Rivalry". The series is currently the second-most played rivalry in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), behind Minnesota–Wisconsin and tied with North Carolina–Virginia.
Neville Arena, formerly Auburn Arena, is a 9,121-seat multi-purpose arena in Auburn, Alabama, on the campus of Auburn University. Built in 2010 to replace Beard–Eaves–Memorial Coliseum, the $86 million facility is the home of the Auburn Tigers men's and women's basketball, women's gymnastics, and women's volleyball teams. It is located on the west side of the Auburn campus, near Wire Road between Thach Avenue and Heisman Drive. Aside from the main court, the arena also contains two practice courts, a weight room, 12 suites, coaches offices, the Auburn Ticket Office, and the Lovelace Athletic Museum. The outside of the arena features a large monument to the Auburn Creed and a statue of former Auburn men's basketball player Charles Barkley.
The 1913 Auburn Tigers football team represented Auburn University in the 1913 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association football season. The Tigers were retroactively recognized as a national champion in 1999 by the Billingsley Report's alternative calculation which considers teams' margin of victory. The team was coached by Mike Donahue and was undefeated at 8–0, outscoring opponents 224–13.
The Auburn Tigers men's basketball program is the intercollegiate men's basketball team that represents Auburn University. The school competes in the Southeastern Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Tigers play their home games at Neville Arena in Auburn, Alabama on the university campus. The program began in 1906, and is currently coached by Bruce Pearl.
The 2007 Auburn Tigers football team represented Auburn University during the 2007 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Head coach Tommy Tuberville returned for his ninth season at Auburn, the third longest tenure among SEC head coaches in 2007. He was joined by returning offensive coordinator Al Borges and returning defensive coordinator Will Muschamp. Auburn played its eight-game home schedule at Jordan–Hare Stadium, the ninth largest on-campus stadium in the NCAA in 2007, seating 87,451. Conference foe Vanderbilt returned to the schedule while non-conference opponents South Florida and Tennessee Tech played the Tigers for the first time. The Tigers finished the season ranked #14 in the Coaches Poll and #15 in the AP Poll.
The Auburn Tigers baseball team represents Auburn University in NCAA Division I college baseball. Along with most other Auburn athletic teams, the baseball team participates in the Western division of the Southeastern Conference. The Tigers play their home games on campus at Plainsman Park, and they are coached by Butch Thompson.
The Florida Gators softball team represents the University of Florida in the sport of softball. Florida competes in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Gators play their home games at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium on the university's Gainesville, Florida campus, and are currently led by head coach Tim Walton. In the twenty-six year history of the Florida Softball program, the team has won two Women's College World Series (WCWS) national championships, nine SEC regular season championships, five SEC tournament championships, and have made eleven WCWS appearances.
The 2008–09 Vanderbilt Commodores women's basketball team represented Vanderbilt University in the 2008–09 NCAA Division I basketball season. The Commodores were a member of the Southeast Conference and competed in the Sweet Sixteen at the NCAA Tournament. It was the Commodores 14th appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16 after earning its sixth Southeastern Conference Tournament championship.
The Alabama–Auburn men's basketball rivalry is a men's college basketball rivalry between the Auburn Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide. Though both schools are best known for their prestigious football programs, the deeply rooted rivalry between the two extends to basketball as well.

Joel Harry Eaves was an American college football and basketball player, coach, and athletic director. He is perhaps most known for coaching basketball at his alma mater, the Auburn Tigers of Auburn University. He is the all-time winningest coach in Auburn basketball history. He was also once athletic director for the Georgia Bulldogs. Eaves was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 1978.
Ryan Pugh is an American football coach and former player who is currently the offensive coordinator at Abilene Christian. Previously, he was the offensive line coach and, before that, the offensive line coach and running game coordinator at Southern. Before going to Southern, he was most recently the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Troy. Pugh was a prominent center for the Auburn Tigers of Auburn University; selected All-Southeastern Conference in 2010. He is married to Cathey Lee (Dalton) Pugh.
The 2016–17 Auburn Tigers men's basketball team represented Auburn University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team's head coach was Bruce Pearl, in his third season at Auburn. The team played their home games at the Auburn Arena in Auburn, Alabama as a member of the Southeastern Conference. They finished the season 18–14, 7–11 in SEC play to finish in 11th place. They lost in the first round of the SEC tournament to Missouri.

Headquartered in Auburn, Alabama, United States, the radio network includes a maximum of 50 radio stations in Alabama, eastern Mississippi, the Florida Panhandle, and Western Georgia. It is the main rival of the Crimson Tide Sports Network, the radio network of University of Alabama athletics.
Kasey Marie Cooper is an American former softball player and third baseman. Cooper played college softball at Auburn, in which entering her senior season held almost every offensive record for the Tigers. Cooper also played for the United States women's national softball team, and won a gold medal with the team at the 2016 Women's Softball World Championship and a silver medal at the 2016 World Cup of Softball.
The 1905–06 Auburn Tigers men's basketball team represented Auburn University in the 1905–06 college basketball season. This was the first men's basketball team ever to represent Auburn University. The team's head coach was Mike Donahue, who was in his first season at Auburn. The team played their home games at The Gymnasium in Auburn, Alabama. They finished the season 5–1–1. The team beat Mercer 64 to 8, and beat Georgia Tech 26 to 6 in the first intercollegiate basketball game in Atlanta.
Emily Patricia Carosone is an Italian-American former professional softball player and coach. Carosone later joined the Italy women's national softball team and competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
