Football Club Zenit, also known as Zenit Saint Petersburg or simply Zenit, is a Russian professional football club based in the city of Saint Petersburg. Founded in 1925, the club plays in the Russian Premier League. Zenit are the reigning champions of the Russian Premier League. Previously they won the 2007, 2010, 2011–12, 2014–15 and 2018–19 seasons of the Russian Premier League, as well as the 2007–08 UEFA Cup and the 2008 UEFA Super Cup. The club is owned and sponsored by the Russian state-owned energy giant Gazprom. The team play its home matches at the Gazprom Arena.
FC Dynamo Moscow is a Russian football club based in Moscow. Dynamo returned to the Russian Premier League for the 2017–18 season after one season in the second-tier Russian Football National League.
FC Lokomotiv Moscow is a Russian professional football club based in Moscow.
The Russian Premier League is the top division professional association football league in Russia. It was established at the end of 2001 as the Russian Football Premier League and was rebranded with its current name in 2018. From 1992 through 2001, the top level of the Russian football league system was the Russian Football Championship. There are 16 teams in the competition. The league has three Champions League qualifying spots given to the top three teams at the end of the season and the two Europa League spots will be allocated to the fourth and fifth placed teams. The last two teams are relegated to the Russian National Football League at the end of the season.
FC Spartak Vladikavkaz was a Russian football club based in Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia–Alania. Founded in 1921, the club played in the Soviet Top League during the communist era, and won its first and only league title in the 1995 Russian Top League.
Football Club Torpedo Moscow, known as Torpedo Moscow, is a Russian professional football club based in Moscow that was founded in 1924 and currently plays in the Russian Football National League, the second tier of Russian football. Their colors are white and black, with green also commonly being associated with the club. Torpedo is the only professional club located in south Moscow, based in Avtozovodskaya in south-east Moscow, with CSKA and Spartak located in north-west Moscow, Dynamo in north Moscow and Lokomotiv in north-east Moscow.
Football Club Kairat is a professional football club based in Almaty, which plays in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest level of Kazakh football. Founded in 1954 as Lokomotiv Alma-Ata, they became Urozhay in 1955 and Kairat in 1956. The club's home ground is the Central Stadium which has a capacity of 23,804. The club's home kit colours are yellow and black striped shirts, black shorts and black socks.
