The 2016 Pan Am Team Badminton Championships is a continental championships tournament of badminton teams in Pan America. The event was held in Guadalajara, Mexico from 17 to 20 February 2016.

Tournament

The 2016 Pan Am Team Badminton Championships, officially Pan Am Team Continental Championships 2016, is a continental stage tournament of Thomas and Uber Cups, and also to crown the best men's and women's badminton team in Pan America. [1] This event was organized by the Badminton Pan Am and Mexican Association of Badminton. 8 teams, consisting of 4 men's teams and 4 women's teams entered the tournament.

The Badminton Pan Am (BPA) organisation is the governing body for the sport of badminton in the Americas and is recognized as such by the Badminton World Federation - BWF. It was founded as a continental governing body on February 13, 1976 in the headquarters of the Mexican Olympic Committee in Mexico City. The Pan American Badminton Confederation was founded by Badminton Canada, the Jamaica Badminton Association, Federacion Mexicana de Badminton, Comision Nacional de Badminton Peru and the United States Badminton Association. The men's team were runners-up at the 1952 edition of the Thomas Cup where they lost to Malaya.

Kevin Haroldo Cordón Buezo is a Guatemalan badminton player. He won two men's singles title at the Pan American Games, four title at the Pan Am Championships, and six title at the Central American and Caribbean Games. He is a four time Olympian for Guatemala participating at the 2008, 2012, 2016 and the 2020 Olympic Games.

At the Pan Am Championships, she won seven golds, and five silver medals since her debut at the tournament in 2016.

The XXII 2018 Pan Am Badminton Championships was a continental championships tournament of badminton in Pan America. This tournament was held as two events in different countries. From 15 to 18 February, the team event was held in Tacarigua, Trinidad and Tobago. From 26 to 29 April, the individual event was held in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. From 14 to 17 February, the team event was held in Lima, Peru. From 25 to 28 April, the individual event was held in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

The 2020 Badminton Asia Team Championships was the third edition of Badminton Asia Team Championships, staged at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila, Philippines, from 11 to 16 February 2020. This championships was organized by the Badminton Asia with Philippine Badminton Association as host organiser and sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation. This tournament served as the Asian qualifiers for the 2020 Thomas & Uber Cup in Denmark. Barbados have never medaled at the Pan American Badminton Championships. The Barbadian mixed team started participating in the Commonwealth Games mixed team event since 2010.

Qingzi Ouyang is a Canadian former badminton player of Chinese origin who competes in international level events. She is a double Pan Am junior champions in the girls' singles. In the senior event, she won a bronze medal in the women's doubles as well as in the mixed doubles at the 2016 Canadian Championships, and helped Canadian women's team finished as runner-up at the Pan Am Team Championships in Mexico.

The 2022 Uber Cup qualification process is a series of tournaments organised by the five BWF confederations to decide 14 of the 16 teams which will play in the 2022 Uber Cup, with Thailand qualifying automatically as hosts, and China qualifying automatically as trophy holder.

From 16 to 19 February, the team event was held in Guadalajara, Mexico. From 26 to 29 April, the individual event was held in Kingston, Jamaica.

The 2024 Pan Am Male & Female Badminton Cup was a continental badminton team tournament to crown the best men's and women's team for the Americas. The tournament also served as the Pan American qualifiers for the 2024 Thomas & Uber Cup to be held in Chengdu, China. It was held in São Paulo, Brazil from 15 to 18 February 2024.
