2017 AFF Invitational Futsal Club Championship was the third edition of AFF Futsal Club Championship. The tournament was held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 3 to 9 July 2017. [1] The futsal clubs from AFF member countries were invited to compete in this tournament. Thai Port (men) and Jaya Kencana Angels Futsal Club (women) were the title holders from the previous edition. For this edition, only the men's division was contested.

The 2012 AFF Futsal Championship was the ninth edition of the tournament which was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 19 to 27 April 2012. It was originally scheduled for the 17 to 27 April but was moved back by two days at the request of the Timor-Leste Football Federation due to the majority of their players coming from the Police Force who are required to vote in the local elections, and would not be able to leave the country without doing so. All member nations of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) have entered except for Singapore.
The Mongolia national futsal team is controlled by the Mongolian Football Federation, the governing body for futsal in Mongolia and represents the country in international futsal competitions.
The 2013 AFF Futsal Championship is the tenth edition of the tournament which was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 19 to 27 October 2013. Ten from twelve member nations of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) have entered all matches were played at the Chanchai Acadium in Bangkok Thonburi University. This edition also acted as a qualification tournament for the 2014 AFC Futsal Championship, with the top 3 teams qualified for the 2014 AFC Futsal Championship.

The 2016 AFC Futsal Championship qualification was a men's futsal competition which decided the participating teams of the 2016 AFC Futsal Championship. A total of 16 teams qualified to play in the final tournament, including Japan, Iran, Uzbekistan (hosts), who qualified directly as the top three finishers of the 2014 AFC Futsal Championship. Since third-placed Uzbekistan qualified automatically as hosts, Kuwait, who finished fourth, would have also qualified as the next best-ranked team, but they were later replaced due to FIFA's suspension of the Kuwait Football Association.
