In 2009, the Campeonato Brasileiro Série D, the fourth division of the Brazilian Football, is currently being contested for first time in history. The competition has 40 clubs, four of which will eventually qualify to the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C to be contested in 2010.
In 2011, the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, the third level of the Brazilian League, will be contested by 20 clubs divided in four groups, followed by a playoff round, during 16 July and 13 November. The top four clubs, the ones which qualifies to the semifinals, will be promoted to the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B to be contested in 2012. Meanwhile, the bottom four clubs, the ones that finish in last place of each group, will be relegated to 2012 Série D.
The 2013 Campeonato Acreano was the 67th season of the Campeonato Acreano, the top professional football league of the state of Acre. Plácido de Castro were champions for the 1st time. The championship started 17 February 2013, and ended on 26 May.

Cuiabá Esporte Clube won the championship by the 4th time, while Vila Aurora was relegated. The championship had a break between the ninth and tenth rounds due to the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which was held between June and July in Brazil.Cruzeiro took the lead in round 6 and from then on, stayed in that position, winning the title after a 2–1 victory over Goiás in the Mineirão stadium, in round 36.
