2012 Mutua Madrid Open – Mens singles 2012 tennis event results

Roger Federer defeated Tomáš Berdych in the final, 3–6, 7–5, 7–5 to win the men's singles title at the 2012 Madrid Open. With this win, Federer won his record-tying 20th ATP Masters 1000 title and third title at Madrid.

Defending champion Novak Djokovic successfully defended his title, defeating Richard Gasquet in the final, 6–3, 6–2, to win the men's singles title at the 2012 Canadian Open.

Roger Federer defeated Novak Djokovic in the final, 6–0, 7–6 (9–7), to win the men's singles title at the 2012 Cincinnati Masters. It was his record fifth title at the Cincinnati Masters, and the first occasion that a player won an ATP Masters 1000 event without having serve broken or losing a set. Federer would repeat this accomplishment at the 2015 event. It was Djokovic's fourth runner-up finish at the Cincinnati Masters.

Andy Murray was the defending champion, but lost to Milos Raonic in the semifinals.
Eighth-seeded Kei Nishikori won the title beating Milos Raonic in the final 7–6(7–5), 3–6, 6–0, and in doing so became the first home grown winner of the title since Toshiro Sakai in 1972.

Andy Murray was the two-time defending champion, but lost in the final to Novak Djokovic, 5–7, 7–6(13–11), 6–3, bringing to an end Murray's perfect 12–0 record at the event. The final was voted as the best 2012 ATP World Tour match of the year, and Djokovic had to save 5 championship points in the second set in order to take the match into a decisive set.
