The 2017 Group 10 Rugby League season was the 71st season of the premier competition of rugby league in the Central West area of New South Wales in 2017. It was run under the auspices of the Country Rugby League. It was the fifth consecutive season to feature nine teams, after the re-admittance of the Blayney Bears in 2013. [1]

Contents

Mudgee Dragons entered the season as defending champions, after defeating Orange CYMS 14-10 in the 2016 premier league decider. Dragons made the final from fifth position, their win over minor premiers CYMS causing a massive upset.

Eighteen rounds were contested from April until August, resulting in the top of Orange CYMS, Bathurst Panthers, Oberon Tigers, Mudgee Dragons and Lithgow Workmen's Club.

Oberon Tigers is an Australian rugby league football team based in the Central West town of Oberon. The Tigers first played in the Country Rugby League-controlled Group 10 Rugby League in the competition's inaugural season in 1947, before dropping out at the end of the 1951 season. The Tigers returned in 1954 and competed in Group 10 until the end of the 1996 season. It also had another two spells in the competition from 2005-2008 and 2011-2019. They now play in the Woodbridge Cup.

Bathurst St Patrick's, more commonly referred to as St Pat's, are an Australian rugby league football team based in the Central West city of Bathurst. St Pat's have played in the Country Rugby League-controlled Group 10 Rugby League since the 1948, the competition's second season, winning six premierships, the most recent a 34–12 win over Cowra Magpies in 2014.

The decision was made on 19 October 2019 and the merger means that the aim of a unified administration of the sport in NSW was achieved over a year ahead of time. The Group 10 season was officially cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic on 9 June 2020.

The Mid West Community Cup is a rugby league competition in the Central West area of New South Wales. The premiers are awarded the Blayney Citizens' Cup, the oldest continuously awarded trophy in Country Rugby League, with Neville the first recipients in 1913. For all intents and purposes, it is a third division competition in the Group 10/11 area.

The Peter McDonald Premiership is a New South Wales, Australia rugby league competition. The competition commenced in April 2022. The competition incorporates the former Group 10 and Group 11 competitions by implementing a first past the post system to award silverware to the clubs who win the respective historic competitions. The top four from each conference will then compete in the Finals with the overall Western Conference winners progressing to the two week state NSWRL Presidents Cup finals against the Northern (Newcastle), Southern (Illawarra) and Ron Massey Cup (Sydney) conferences to crown the state semi-professional club champions. The competition only has First Grade and Under 18s, with respective reserves and women's tag competitions remaining under the control of Group 10 and Group 11. Blayney is the only Group 10 club not to field a side in the Peter McDonald Premiership competition; all Group 11 clubs compete.

The 2022 Western Premier League, also called the Burmac Western Premier League for sponsorship reasons, was the 22nd season of the Western Premier League (WPL), the top football league in the Central West region of New South Wales. It was the third consecutive year that the competition has run, following an eight-year hiatus. No title was awarded in 2021, following the abandonment of the competition one round before finals due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The New South Wales Rugby League is administering several competitions during the 2022 rugby league season in Australia.
