The 2017 Men's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 25th edition of the tournament, and was held in Colorado Springs, United States from 26 September to 1 October 2017. The top three teams qualified for the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, whereas the fourth and fifth ranked teams qualified for the 2018 World Championship NORCECA qualification final four. Contents

Originally the 2017 NORCECA Championship was the only competition from the area to offer the 2018 World Championship qualification quota, but due to the pass of hurricanes Irma and Maria for the Caribbean sea, Cuba and Puerto Rico were unable to compete, NORCECA authorities decided to make the 2018 World Championship NORCECA qualification final four tournament - Cuba, Puerto Rico and the 4th and 5th placed teams of the 2017 NORCECA Championship.

Qualification

The top six ranked teams from the NORCECA Ranking as of 1 January 2016 [2] qualified directly. Other six teams qualified through the zonal qualification. [3]

  1. Cuba had to withdraw from the tournament due to the closure of the US Embassy in Havana, and after Cuba sustained damages during Hurricane Irma.
  2. Puerto Rico suffered a devastating hit from Hurricane Maria and their team was unable to participate at the NORCECA competition.

Therefore, the first two rounds of the 2018 World Championship qualification also acted as qualifiers for the 2017 NORCECA Championship.

The 2016 Girls' Youth NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the tenth edition of the bi-annual volleyball tournament. It was held in San Juan, Puerto Rico from 2 to 7 September among eight countries. The Dominican Republic won the tournament and qualified for the 2017 FIVB Girls' World Championship along with the United States. Dominican Republic player Natalia Martínez won the Most Valuable Player award.

The 1997 Men's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 15th edition of the tournament, played from 12 to 18 September in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The top team qualified for the 1999 World Grand Champions Cup.

The 2017 Men's Pan-American Volleyball Cup was the twelfth edition of the annual Men's Pan-American volleyball tournament. It was held in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, from 25 July to 30 July. Eight teams competed in the tournament. Argentina won the tournament for the first time, Puerto Rico and Cuban won Silver and Bronze. Argentinian Martín Ramos was selected Most Valuable Player.

The North American section of the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's Challenger Cup qualification acted as a qualifier for the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's Challenger Cup, for national teams which are members of the North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA). This tournament was held in Sportplex Beau-Chateau, Quebec, Canada. The eventual winner will earn the right to compete in the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's Challenger Cup.

The 2019 Men's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 26th edition of the tournament, and was held in Winnipeg, Canada from 2 to 7 September 2019. Top three teams which had not yet qualified to the 2020 Summer Olympics or the 2020 North American Olympic Qualification Tournament qualified for the 2020 North American Olympic Qualification Tournament.

The North American Qualification Tournament for the 2020 Men's Olympic Volleyball Tournament was a volleyball tournament for men's national teams held in Vancouver, Canada from 10 to 12 January 2020. Four teams played in the tournament and the winners Canada qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics.

The 2020 Women's Volleyball North American Olympic Qualification Tournament will be a volleyball tournament for women's national teams to be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from 10 to 12 January 2020. 4 teams will play in the tournament, where the winner will qualify to the 2020 women's Olympic volleyball tournament.

The 2019 Men's NORCECA Volleyball Champions Cup was the second edition of the tournament, and was held in Colorado Springs, United States from 22 to 24 August 2019. The champions which had not yet qualified to the 2020 Summer Olympics qualified for the 2020 North American Olympic Qualification Tournament.

The 2021 FIVB Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship was the 17th edition of the FIVB Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship, contested by the men's national teams under the age of 19 of the members of the FIVB, the sport's global governing body. The tournament was held in Iran from 24 August to 2 September 2021.

The 2021 FIVB Volleyball Women's U20 World Championship was the 21st edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women's U20 World Championship, contested by the women's national teams under the age of 20 of the members of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The final tournament was held in Belgium and Netherlands, making it the first time that the tournament was jointly hosted by more than one country.

The North American section of the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Men's Challenger Cup qualification acted as a qualifier for the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Men's Challenger Cup, for national teams which are members of the North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA). The tournament was held in Pinar del Río, Cuba from 3 to 5 June 2022. The winners Cuba qualified for the 2023 Challenger Cup. But, as Cuba later won the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men's Challenger Cup and qualified for the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League, the runners-up Dominican Republic succeeded to the 2023 Challenger Cup qualification.
