Contents

The theme for this edition was "Betting on the Future" and focused more on music, removing categories awarding actors, telenovelas, and pop culture. [4] [5] It was hosted by Alejandra Espinoza and Danilo Carrera. [2]

Austin Agustín Santos Rosas, better known by his stage name Arcángel, is an American rapper, singer and songwriter. He was born in New York City to Dominican parents. In 2002, he was interested in becoming a performer of reggaeton, a contemporary Latin American urban music genre. While living in Puerto Rico, he eventually formed part of a popular then-underground reggaeton act, Arcángel & De la Ghetto. The duo went on to make songs that became popular among reggaeton fans in the United States and Puerto Rico, including "Aparentemente", "Agresivo", "Sorpresa" and "Mi Fanática" during the mid-2000s.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">El Perdedor (Maluma song)</span> 2016 single by Maluma

"El perdedor" is a song by Colombian singer Maluma taken from his second studio album Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy (2015). Sony Music Latin released it as the album's third single on 9 February 2016 following fan demand. It was written by JY and Maluma alongside Kevin Mauricio Jiménez, Bryan Snaider Lezcano Chaverra and Miky la Sensa. Two remix versions were available for purchase; one featuring Puerto Rican singer Yandel and the other being an EDM version. A Brazilian Portuguese version of the song featuring Brazilian duo Bruninho e Davi was released on 30 May 2017. Commercially, the song was successful across countries of Latin America topping the charts in Colombia and Mexico. It also entered the top ten of many Billboard Latin charts, peaking at number four on the main Hot Latin Songs chart.

The ceremony took place at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico, for the second year in a row. It was broadcast live on Univision. The ceremoy was hosted by Mexican singer Ángela Aguilar, Mexican TV host Alejandra Espinoza, Puerto Rican actress Dayanara Torres, and Brazilian actor Marcus Ornellas.
