The 2017 Southern Utah Thunderbirds volleyball team represented Southern Utah University in the 2017 NCAA Division I women's volleyball season. The Thunderbirds were led by third year head coach Craig Choate and played their home games at Centrum Arena. The Thunderbirds were members of the Big Sky.
Southern Utah came off a season where they finished 2–14 in conference, 4–24 overall, good for sixth place in the South Division and tied for 11th overall. For 2017 the Thunderbirds were picked to finish sixth in the South, 12th overall, in the pre-season Big Sky poll. [1]

The Big Sky Conference is a collegiate athletic conference, affiliated with the NCAA's Division I with football competing in the Football Championship Subdivision. As of 2024, ten full member institutions are located in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. Two affiliate members from California are football–only participants.
Portland State Vikings is the nickname of the NCAA-affiliated, intercollegiate athletic teams representing Portland State University of Portland, Oregon. The Vikings compete at the NCAA Division I level in basketball, soccer, volleyball, golf, tennis, softball, indoor and outdoor track and field, and cross country. The university has been a member of the Big Sky Conference since 1996. Along with the other Big Sky football programs, Viking football takes-part in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), formerly known as NCAA Division I-AA.
The Southern Utah Thunderbirds football program is a college football team that represents Southern Utah University (SUU). With a history dating back to 1963, SUU currently competes in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision as a member of the United Athletic Conference.
The 1969 Montana Grizzlies football team represented the University of Montana in the 1969 NCAA College Division football season as a member of the Big Sky Conference. The Grizzlies were led by third-year head coach Jack Swarthout and played their home games at Dornblaser Field.
The 2013 Big Sky Conference men's basketball tournament ran from March 14–16, 2013. The champion of the tournament, Montana, received an automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA tournament.
The 2013–14 Weber State Wildcats women's basketball team represented Weber State University during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Wildcats were led by second year head coach Bethann Ord and played their home games at the Dee Events Center. They were members of the Big Sky Conference.
The 2015 Portland State Vikings football team represented Portland State University during the 2015 NCAA Division I FCS football season. They were led by first-year head coach Bruce Barnum and played their home games at Providence Park, with one home game at Hillsboro Stadium. They were a member of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 9–3, 6–2 in Big Sky play to finish in a tie for second place; this was the program's first winning season since 2011. They received an at-large bid to the FCS Playoffs, the Vikings first appearance in the FCS playoffs since 2000, where they lost in the second round to Northern Iowa.
The 2004 Sacramento State Hornets football team represented California State University, Sacramento as a member of the Big Sky Conference during the 2004 NCAA Division I-AA football season. Led by second-year head coach Steve Mooshagian, Sacramento State compiled an overall record of 3–8 with a mark of 2–5 in conference play, tying for sixth place in the Big Sky. The team was outscored by its opponents 415 to 190 for the season. The Hornets played home games at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, California.
The 2006 Sacramento State Hornets football team represented California State University, Sacramento as a member of the Big Sky Conference during the 2006 NCAA Division I FCS football season. Led by Steve Mooshagian in fourth and final season as head coach, Sacramento State compiled an overall record of 4–7 with a mark of 4–4 in conference play, placing fifth in the Big Sky. The team was outscored by its opponents 288 to 168 for the season. The Hornets played home games at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, California.
The 2017 Utah State Aggies volleyball team represented Utah State University in the 2017 NCAA Division I women's volleyball season. The Aggies were led by twelfth year head coach Grayson DuBose and played their home games at the Wayne Estes Center. The Aggies were members of the Mountain West.

They were led by fourth-year head coach Demario Warren and played their home games at Eccles Coliseum in Cedar City, Utah as eighth-year members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 3–9, 2–6 in Big Sky play to finish in a five-way tie for ninth place.
The 2019 Northern Arizona Lumberjacks football team represented Northern Arizona University in the 2019 NCAA Division I FCS football season. They were led by 1st-year head coach Chris Ball and played their home games at the Walkup Skydome. They were members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 4–8, 2–6 in Big Sky play to finish in a five-way tie for ninth place.
The 2019 Weber State Wildcats football team represented Weber State University in the 2019 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Wildcats were led by fifth-year head coach Jay Hill and played their games at Stewart Stadium as members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 11–4, 7–1 in Big Sky play to finish in a two-way tie for the Big Sky championship with Sacramento State. They received the Big Sky's automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs where, after a first round bye, they defeated Kennesaw State in the second round and Montana in the quarterfinals before losing to James Madison in the semifinals.

The Thunderbirds were led by fourth-year head coach Todd Simon and played their home games at the America First Event Center in Cedar City, Utah as members of the Big Sky Conference.
The 2019–20 Northern Arizona Lumberjacks men's basketball team represent Northern Arizona University in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Lumberjacks, led by interim head coach Shane Burcar, played their home games at the Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff, Arizona, with their non-conference home games at Rolle Activity Center, and one at Findlay Toyota Center, as members of the Big Sky Conference.
The 2020 Eastern Washington Eagles football team represented Eastern Washington University as a member of the Big Sky Conference during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I FCS football season. Led by fourth-year head coach Aaron Best, the Eagles played their home games at Roos Field in Cheney, Washington.
The 2020–21 Big Sky Conference men's basketball season began with practices in October 2020, followed by the start of the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. Conference play begins in January 2021 and will conclude in March 2021.
The 2021 Southern Utah Thunderbirds football team represented Southern Utah University in the 2021 NCAA Division I FCS football season. They were led by sixth-year head coach Demario Warren and played their home games at Eccles Coliseum in Cedar City, Utah. They played their final season as a member of the Big Sky Conference, as they would depart for the Western Athletic Conference for the 2022 season.
The 2021–22 Southern Utah Thunderbirds men's basketball team represented Southern Utah University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Thunderbirds, led by sixth-year head coach Todd Simon, played their home games at the America First Event Center in Cedar City, Utah as members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 23–12, 14–6 in Big Sky play to finish in second place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the Big Sky tournament to Portland State. They received an invitation to The Basketball Classic tournament where they defeated Kent State, UTEP, and Portland to advance to the tournament semifinals. There they lost to Fresno State.
The 2023 NCAA Division I FCS football season, part of college football in the United States, was organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level. The regular season began on August 26 and ended in November. The postseason began in November and ended on January 7, 2024, with the 2024 NCAA Division I Football Championship Game at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. South Dakota State repeated as champions, defeating Montana, 23–3.
