The 2018 Extreme Sailing Series was a series of GC32 catamaran class sailing events staged during 2018. The series began in March in Muscat, Oman, and the final event took place in Los Cabos, Mexico in late November and early December. The 2018 season was also the last season before the collapse of the Extreme Sailing Series. [1]

The 2018 series consisted of seven acts across three continents, and included the inaugural G32 World Championship in Riva del Garda, Italy. [2] [3]

The 2016 Extreme Sailing Series was the tenth edition of the sailing series and the sixth year of it being a fully global event. 2016 saw the series move away from the Extreme 40 catamaran, and into the GC32 foiling catamaran.

The GC32 is a class of hydrofoiling catamaran, 32 feet in length and constructed of carbon fibre, with a top speed of about 40 knots. They are sailed in the GC32 Racing Tour, and have replaced the Extreme 40's in the Extreme Sailing Series.

GC32 Racing Tour is a southern European-centered sailing boat circuit for GC32 one design foiling catamarans. It attracts both private owner-driven teams and those that are commercially-backed.

2019 was the sixth series of the GC32 Racing Tour. It was the first to include well-known GC32 teams Alinghi, Oman Air and Red Bull Sailing Team, following the collapse of the Extreme Sailing Series. The 2019 season consisted of five acts, returning to Villasimius, Riva del Garda, Lagos, and Palma de Mallorca, as well as its debut in Muscat, Oman.

2020 is the seventh series of the GC32 Racing Tour. The season consists of five acts, returning to Villasimius, Riva del Garda, Lagos, and Muscat. The final venue of the series will be announced in due course.
